The thin cable from the logitech x140 speaker unit( the unit with the on/off and volume)came out from some part of the pc, There is no sound. Please help .Where should i connect it. PLEASE BE DESCRIPTIVE NOT TECHNICAL. Thank you, Mira

Im assuming this on/off unit is the amplifier? lol sorry. follow the other speaker cable to where it connects to the pc and you should find the socket it came from next to it. Most sockets have a symbol to show you which is which.

On the back of the computer you will see a blue,red and lime green connector. Usually the speaker goes into the lime green plug. Also if there is a black plug instead of a lime green plug,, plug it in there.

Where do I plug in speakers


Speakers should plug in in the back of your computer. There should be three ports, one of which is green. Also check the volume on speakers if there are manual volume controls, or on the computer as well. Sometimes this is overlooked. If you go to Control Panel (assuming this is a Windows machine) there is a sound feature and you can test sounds there.

Hi. That cpu has built in speaker?
if yes, please take a look inside your computer and check th speaker cable inside your computer is put into board or not. If pull out, put it into speaker socket.

External speakers won't work on HP T5570e Thin Client


Try to use earphones, plug them in to phone audio connector....
try if it works..... if so, disconnect them and plug speakers.... and try again.... if doesn't work, go to audio advanced setup and check if speakers are not muted, or set up voicevolume level is too low. Play with that setup....

Also some computers can turn on or off speakers in Bios.

If problem will not be solved, try to use USB speakers

My sound wont work on my emachine


There are a few simple things to check first:

  • Make sure your computer has a sound card.

    You must be logged on as an administrator to perform these steps.

    1.     2. Expand the Sound, video and game controllers category. If a sound card is listed, you have one installed. If no sound card is listed, You will need to install one. See Install or remove a sound card.

      If you think you have a sound card installed but you don't see it under the Sound, video and game controllers category, expand the Other devices category and check any devices listed there.

    3. If there is a yellow question mark next to the name of the sound card, there might be a problem. Right-click the name of the sound card, and then click Properties.

    4. Click the General tab, and then look in the Device status box to identify problems with the sound card.

  • Make sure your speakers are plugged into a working power source and turned on.

  • Make sure your speakers are correctly connected to the computer.

    On your speakers, find the cable that plugs into your computer. Make sure that the speaker cable is plugged into the speakers and the correct jack on the computer. For example, if the cable is a 1/8 inch cable, there should be a round jack for it on the back of the computer. If it is a universal serial bus (USB) cable, it will plug into any USB port on your computer.

  • Make sure that the speaker volume is not muted or turned down too low.

    2. Under Main Volume, move the slider up or down to raise or lower the volume.

    Some mobile PCs have an external volume control on the outside of the case. If you're using a mobile PC, check the external volume control.

  • Make sure your headphones are not plugged into the line out (headphone) jack of your sound card or computer (unless you want to be listening with headphones rather than speakers). When you plug in headphones, most computers automatically cut the sound to the speakers.

I just got a couple ativa speakers and I can not get sound out of them. I have a HP Pavilion a6200n. I have the ativa cord plugged into the same spot that my old speakers were plugged into, so I'm...


check your audio setting>>> go to control panel>just locate, sound and devices> check the volume, if mute option is have check, please uncheck and adjust the all option related to volume. if doesn't work just buy a sound card... see to it before you buy a sound card test your speaker first to other pc. if it is work to other pc you need to buy a sound card.

NO SPEAKERS SOUND


Ok, there is a plug that looks green on the back of the unit. Match the color coding on the back of the unit and on the sound card. Make suire its plugged in the right hole because you got LINE IN- MIC and SPEAKER.. if its a 7.1 sound card then you probably got CENTER- RIGHT AND LEFT and so on.. check your cabling..

There is no sound on my computer

Yes the laptop will stay connected, for the sound problem, check the cable of your speaker and the amplifier of the speaker sounds a leaky capasitor, try a different speaker.

No sound from logitech x-230 subwoofer


Try the following steps:
  1. Verify that all cables are plugged in correctly. Make sure the rear and/or center/sub audio cable is plugged in to the correct port. On most surround sound cards, the rear audio port is black, the front audio port is green, and the center/sub audio port is orange. If you do not have a surround sound card, make sure you obtain the proper adapter (discussed in the next paragraph) or use surround sound emulation if your speaker system offers it. If you are not sure if you have a surround sound card, please check with the manufacturer of your sound card for details.
  2. Make sure your sound card supports the same amount of channels as your speaker system contains. For 4.1 systems, it should have a front and rear speaker jack on the card. For 5.1 systems, the card should have a front, rear, and center/sub, output. The card should be properly installed and configured. Please contact your sound card manufacturer for details. If you do not have a surround sound capable sound card, you can use the M3D button on the controller unit (if you own a z-560 or z-540) or use the source selector switch (if you own a z-5300 or x-620). If you do not have any of the models above, you can use an adapter to split the signal for the front and rear speakers. This type of adapter is a 3.5mm male to 2-3.5mm female jacks. You can purchase this adapter at your local electronic store. Please refer to your manual if you do not know if your speaker system can emulate surround sound.
  3. Try connecting the speakers to a portable sound device such as a walkman or portable CD player. Plug the speakers into the headphone jack, but make sure the volume is lowered so the speakers are not over powered. You can do this for both the front, rear, center/sub speakers to verify that they work. If the speaker system works on the walkman, then you are experiencing a configuration issue with your sound card. Please contact your sound card manufacturer.
  4. Check the system Volume Control located in the System tray. Make sure that the volumes are at a reasonable level and are not checked for Muting.
