Question about Toshiba Satellite P25-S507 Notebook
Internal monitor screen is blank. It was left on overnight, in the morning wouldn't come on.The hardware power management software (Toshiba's) is set to turn off the monitor after 30 minutes of inactivity. On top of that the OS's screen saver is set to blank after 60 minutes. When the touchpad/keys was tapped the monitor turned on but stayed blank as if the blank screen saver was on - a faint glow of the blank screen (visible in darkness) was the indicator. After the laptop was turned off and on , the same faint glowing blank screen comes on, nothing else , not even BIOS booting info.No visible output whatsoever.A DVD inserted played normal except no visible output - screen blank, sound played only.I got a tip that the computer is stuck in a twilight-like state between hybernation and some other state and to remove the battery for a complete power-off cycle - did that and it didn't help.I suspect either a hardware failure or hopefully just software. No external monitor is available for further testing.OS: XP Home Edition service pack 2.Laptop: Toshiba Satellite P25-s507 ( PSP20U-OOVY3V)
