CRT usually stands for "Cathode Ray Tube"; that is, the (now) old-fashioned picture tube. If that's what you're dealing with, it's cheaper to buy a new, modern flat screen digital TV than to have a CRT model repaired. You likely have a power supply failing, but that's not for-sure. Only a qualified TV service person can diagnose it, and most charge a hefty fee just to diagnose it, then take it from there.

Power up the tv after about 10 - 15 minutes picture goes black but sound i on

If this is CRT TV, you need to change the LOT(line output transformer) to fix this issue. This issue is due to overage of the television.

The log on screen does not show up

No, it seems the monitor is not getting picture from the computer, check your cables, and you can try the monitor on another computer to see if the monitor works, if the monitor works then the problem is in the computer.

This may be a bad crt or picture tube. Take a good look at the picture when it's on and see if it has a pinkish or greenish tint. This is easiest to see if you turn the color adjustment all the way down. If it looks like the tint is green or pink and the focus isn't great then it's probably a bad crt. Not worth repairing if its the tube.

Takes about 5 minutes for picture to appear... Then every one to two minutes the picture disappears. It comes back on for 1 - 2 minutes then repeats. When set if first turned on, the stereo/stand-by light (red) flashes on/off until just before picture first appears .if your tv is very old than it might be due to crt getting weak crt base loose loose contact in power supply thanks

I would suggest to unplug the tv from the wall for about 15 minutes and then plug it back in,and turn it on,this should reset the microprocessor and realign the colors back to normal.let Us know how it goes and if you need more help.
