Hi,
The way you do this is to take note of what the card IS, and who the maker IS and the model number which should be printed on the board. If by chance it isnt you will have to look at what other numbers you can identify it with. or you may be able to download the right drivers by identifying it by picture.
First, the maker =
http://www.sumvision.com.cn/searchResults.aspx?ptype=43

Because you have not given a model number I cannot give you the precise drivers.
How ever you asked how to find them. Go to that site, match your model number with the correct driver download for your version of windoze.
I noticed that they do not have VISTA drivers for the card I think~ you have. You may write the company for specific drivers for VISTA but I doubt they will give you any. If the XP drivers work in VISTA you are in business. If not, it may be a VISTA incomatibility problem more than anything else. Vista is very challenging. MS is actually allowing people to go back to XP at no charge until Jan something in 09.
Once you have identified and downloaded the correct drivers double click to unzip it to a folder. Go to that folder and READ any read files it has before you start and follow the directions they state. It wold be wise to set a system restore point or do a back up ( your choice) before you begin.
Thank you and good luck. *s*

Problems with the BT-ECU2FW

Thats interesting, because I bought the same Express card few days ago for my Acer Aspire 8920G, and I have the same exact problem. I thought its the problem of windows vista, but from your post it I don't think its anymore because you are running XP.

I guess I will return the card and I suggest you do the same, and try another brand Express Card.

Imstalling internal card reader

Well, installing an internal card reader without a spot on the motherboard, is a little hard to do. I would suggest buying an external card reader. They are a little cheaper, and a lot easier to setup and use, since they just connect to a USB port which all computers have.

Vista and firewire 1394?

Firewire works fine under Vista, but it's quite possible your USB to Firewire bridge doesn't have proper Vista drivers. You wouldn't expect Vista to include these, they would be installed from a disc that came with your adaptor. USB to Firewire is a questionable option at best... there are often problems with it. You may be better off with a PC-Card or ExpressCard solution, if the laptop is your only computer.

Also, when the camera says "DV IN", it's expecting video from the PC to be sent to it, it's not in capture mode. Most camcorders must be in either "play" mode, or a special "link to PC" mode in order to even be recognized by Windows (any version) as a video input device.

However, until you resolve the issue of supporting your Firewire device in Vista, nothing the camcorder does will be an issue yet. You should check the documentation that came with your USB to Firewire device, the driver disc, etc. for information on Vista support.

Evergreen IEEE 1394/USB fireLINE PCI Combo Card

You might need to update the NVRAM that stores the PCI configuration that is read at POST. This is done by pressing and holding the so-called CUDA switch on the MOBO for for at least 30 seconds or so. The  eraser end of a wooden pencil makes a useful tool for this ;-) It sometimes requires unplugging the computer and removing the small battery that maintains the memory so that it is completely cleared. Please check that no connections, especially memory cards, haven't been disturbed during installation as well. HTH.
