Question about HP Compaq nx7010 Notebook
Please help answer my question
Cpu speed is the limiter. Newer operating system is longer in codes and will be slower. Going to W2k may make it faster if you can find all the drivers for the newer laptop.

pls check ur RAM it seems like ur RAM is giving u problems pls consider changing it with different one or try if u have 2 chips installed try each one individually and see if helps otherwise if it happened on 34 min mark specifically during the installation then it is more like software issue try replacing the installation cd and see

Windows 7 is not yet officially released(only the beta(testing) version is out)
Hence forth there are not drivers available for windows 7. Click on the link below to see all the available drivers for your laptop.

The reason XP cannot detect the hard drive is because thr hard drive in this model HP is a SATA hard drive and the Windows XP installation CD does not have the SATA controllers on this CD.
To install XP on a SATA hard drive, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-
