Question about KitchenAid KESC307 Electric Kitchen Range

KitchenAid KESH307HBL4 Electric smooth top

My start button on the touch pad of my KitchenAid Superba Model # KESH307HBL4 does not work. The only thing I found when I pulled off the control panel and checked out the curcuit board underneath was a part # K-5 Bake looks like it might be fried. Everything else on the touch pad seems to work. Do you have to replace the entire curcuit board? Or the touch pad? Help!

We have the KESH307HBL4 smooth top slide-in electric range.
We have just purchased the control panel, does not work..  Checked the coils and they have an open circuit so they are not fried.  What else can it be? This is a 7 year old range, not ready to toss it.

That a tough one, when you press the start do you here a tione indicating that you depressed it??? if so then i would say your getting the power from the switch, and the burnt relay is the issue, but if theres no audio indication of hitting the button id replace both

Kitchenaid superba kgsc308lssc keypad not working

Hello Ron,
On that touch pad not working do any button at all work?? its not a uncommon thing for the touch pad to quit working,in some case its just a matter of making sure the plug on it has a good connection where it plugs into the control board. If certain button work while others don't its a sign that the control board itself is good and the problem lies within the touch pad and it would need to be replaced. It may possible as to clean the connection of the ribbon cable on the touch pad by using a pencil eraser and try cleaning the ends of the ribbon cable, again if that doesn't work the touch pad would need need to be replaced . On that model the touch pad is integrated onto the control console and the part number for it is 9782418CB just so ya know its pricey (over $200 )
Good luck,GENE

My beep quit! Beep used to work when the oven came up to temp, the timer timed out, or a button was touched. Can it be reset or will I need to replace it? Where's the control board located and how do I...

We have a Kitchenaid Superba gas stove and the beeps would not sound. We thought the control panel was shot, but we have a WONDERFUL repair man. Here was his re-set.....open oven door, push the cancel button, push stop-time button and hold that button for about 5 seconds. When the beep sounds let go and the panel is re-set. WOW!!!!

Oven buttons is not working code F2:E1 is showing on oven

F2-E1 - Touch Pad (Keypad) Cable Unplugged -
Check the connection between the touch pad (keypad) and control board (clock) to make sure it is secure.
Select the 'cancel' function and wait 60 seconds.
If error code reappears then replace the touch pad, or touch pad and control board (clock) if all one assembly.

It appears your timer/clock has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Kitchenaid Superba Gas Oven Touch Pad not working

We have a gas kitchenaid KGST307HBL9 and the touch pad is blank, but we discovered that you can still touch the buttons and it will work. (example touch bake; temperature; start). It will beep when the target temperature is reached.

Just so we don't forget and leave the oven on, we turn the oven light on as our signal. A little work, but not wanting to "fork" out the money at this time to repair.

Also, if you are handy RepairClinic.com has many items and can also answer question. We've used them for several of our appliance repairs.
