SOURCE: My Sony CMT-NEX30 micro shelf system has no audio

Hi,

I've suspect that your output IC is faulty. But try these steps first if you are an electronicsenthusiast. Now after removing the cover, you have to concentrate first on the power supply board. Look for bulged electrolytic capacitor. Leaky capacitor will affect the regulation of the supply and will trigger the error code. Look for dry joints. Check it also in the pre-amplifier stage, main output board where a big heat sink is located. Next disable the output amplifier stage by disconnecting the supply. If the unit come out, make some re-soldering on the board, spot the cold solder and dry joints and then try to connect again. If the error code appear again, high chance that your output IC is faulty but still to be confirmed. Using the disoldering pump and soldering iron pull-out the output IC from the board then try the unit. If the error code disappear, confirmed that your IC is faulty. After trying the abovesteps-by-steps guide and still the symptoms persist this is the time for you to send it to repair shop. Remember that your unit has a lot of parts and only some basic steps have done, leave the expert to troubleshoot the entire unit.

Give a thumbs up if you find it useful.

Have a nice day!

Thanks for using Fixya.

I need to replace my Philips FW V355 cd lense but i dont know the lense no

Hello
Normally the number of the laser pickup unit will be on it, either printed or by sticker. Just look on its side or bottom. If you are going to buy the laser pickup unit, with the old one as sample, there will be no problem. The sales man can detect it and will give you the exact one. if you are intented to buy this unit from the authorised service center for Philips, just give them the exact model number of the set. It is enough for them. OK.

Receiver shuts off when volume raised above 10

A fuse breaker or resetting electronic componet device attaced to the audio receiver protects the amp & speakers for destruction! The quality of the amp ,spkers& spks. wires help on choosing for protection shut downs! Of course at 10 volume you risk all of the amp in the receiver , buy a higher quality brand reciever ,intergrated amp, single amp . BE CAREFUL AT THE HIGHER VOLUME RATINGS YOU RISK HEARING DAMAGE! FOR REAL!

Vr-309 starts to clip after 10-15 min

This is a case of one or more transistors breaking down when heated. This can be found usually by using freeze spray to cool down one transistor at a time until the problem clears up. You can narrow this down a bit by determining whether this "noise" is effecgted by the volume control or not. Also, does the problem show up faster when the unit plays louder?

Hi there

Toward the base of one of the satellite speakers are two chrome finished plates...these are touch volume plus and minus pads! It seems that these units default to low level if not used for some time. Just try touching the + pad!

Shelf system shuts after a few minutes philips FW-R7

In power supply check capacitors ,one of them is leake or dry.Best way of detecting this cap is to have freez it (coolant) to sprey on the sections in power supply and thanindividual capacitors this will definately solve your problem.
