Re: Reinsert tape (ah)

Its not condensation, perhaps on the tape, but not in the camcorder. i have the same damn problem and its really pissing me off. im a truck driver and when i see something i want the thing to work!! anyways, ive tried to take the tape out and wind the actual tape in the tape tighter by spinning the ummm, things haha. if you take out the tape thats not working and put in a new tape it works. also, theres no condensation in my big rig, its hotter then a barn in here and i have a nice leather case for my cam corder. so this problem is a pure design flaw and im pissed. peace out.

My camera cassette case wont come out and it says re-insert cassette how do i open it?

Mine does that once in a while, I turn it off, remove the battery, put the battery back in, plug the AC adapter in and turn it back on and sometimes it works. Now if I can get it to load a tape without eating it.

Reinsert cassette message

Believe it or not, after having the same problem "re-insert cassette" and "reattach power source", and after talking to Sony and them telling me it would be $111.00 to repair, I hit mine with the palm of my hand twice on each side and twice on the back by the battery and it actually worked--haha Go Figure!!

When I insert a tape, the screen flashes "reinsert cassette".

Hit your camera several times with a flat hand (bottom, tape side). Its strange but my problem was solved. On internet I found maybe 10 or 15 other people who did the same.  Really works!

I have a sony handycam and i started having problems with it because its says i have to reinsert the tape like million times and i want to know what is wrong with it.

I think I replied you before...

This is mechanical problem of Take Up Reel section and system control chip doesn't get reel pulse and you see reinsert tape message (error message)

Repair of this mechanism is delicate work and prior experience does matter here. If you have camera repair knowledge and experience, you should check take-up reel section in camera mechanism.

Good Luck.

Reinsert cassette

Turn the unit off and hit the back of the camera twice near the battery compartment with the palm of your hand. Sounds crazy but it worked with my camcorder Sony DCR-TRV480. Problem started when I used 8MM Head Cleaner. I think the roller got stuck inside camcorder. The trouble code came up C:31:22. Hope this helps.
