Chirping noise and flashing front power light.

I hear a chirping noise and the front power light flashes in sequence to it when turning on the TV, and TV will not work. When peaking behind TV through holes in the back, one green light (on circuit board) stays green and another flashes to the chirping, too. this occurs at 1 second intervals. Hitachi model 43FDX10B.

Re: chirping noise and flashing front power light.

I had the same problem with my 46" Hitachi TV. We left it unpluged for a couple of days (literature says at least 4 hours) Pluged it back in, held in on the AVX and power button at the same time, this puts it into self diagnostic mode. Error codes should appear on the TV screen, then it should instruct you to hit any key to continue. Press the AVX button and it should put your TV back to normal. I suggest however, that you download the specific manual off the internet for your TV. I got my manual from an electronic forum site ( My TV model is Hitachi 46EX3B. Hope this helps.

Re: chirping noise and flashing front power light.

Theres a short somewhere in the set. Most likly the HOT is shorted or the vertical IC has caused this in the past. In one case I had shorted convergence IC cause this symptom.. This set is solid state and there are no user serviceable parts inside so please call a trained tech to assist you with this problem Good Luck

Hey techman - when you say shorted do you mean shorted in the IC or where the ic solders to the board?

Hitachi 53UDX10B power button flashes, chirping noise, LEDs flash

The convergence issue might not affect the TV to the point of not turning ON.
The chirping noise you hear, it means there is a short circuit in the circuitry, possible the HOT or power supply assembly.

Turning on green light starts flashing only to hear a click and then the red light starts flashing... tv will not come on.. i can hear a fan that seems to start up...

The power up sequence is being interrupted and this could either be the main power supply or a protective shutdown of the supply because of a downstream failure. The clicking you hear is the activation and dropout of a relay.

If the flashing seems to be in a pattern, it may be telling you what has failed via the coded flashing. Any Sony service (or service tech) can tell you what the problem likely is if there is a pattern to it.

Hitachi 43UWX10B 43" Power Light flashes Continuously

I doubt if its the fuse. We just helped a customer with a very similiar problem. Its more likely that the convergence IC have failed and shorted out. When this happens one of the symproms is that the TV will shut down and chirp. Goto and click the contact us button. They can provide you with more instructions on how to test if this is the problem.

PT-43LC14 No Picture, chirping sound when turned on

Most of the time, when there is a chirping comming from a TV set, there is a short somewhere inside the TV set. That chirping noise is the TV's power supply starting up and shutting down because of a heavy load on the power supply. These sets have no user replaceable parts inside them, so play it safe, and call out a pro to assist you in this repair. good Luck PS Please do not forget to rate this thread.

Flashin power light - wont come on

The "green light flashing to the chirping" circuit may be defective.

Not a basic diagnosis--service literature and/or knowledge of each green light circuit will be needed.Possible shop repair.
