Depends on what memory you are using. I don't know any reason that two slots would work and not the other two. Be sure you are using memory sticks that are compatible with each other. Sometimes memory from different manufacturers are not compatible.
Your slots will take up to 1GB each for a total of 4GB.
It takes speeds of 400 MHz and 533 MHz DDR2 sticks.

SOURCE: ram upgrade

Dell GX200 has 2 Ram Slots that requires both should be filled by either ram module (with chips) or empty module (without any chips). The type of ram chips are Original RamBus ECC.
If one slot is 512MB, and other is 256MB and it does not work, you may try 2 ram modules of the exact the same kind: same volumes (same 128, or same 256 or same 512 mb) same Original RamBus ECC, or even the same brand.

SOURCE: shut down dell dimesion 4600

If it was running slow and now nothing at all happens when you press the power button, your power supply has probably died. Be careful replacing a power supply, if you accidentally get into the power supply itself, even with it unplugged it could kill you. DO NOT TRY TO REPAIR POWER SUPPLIES EVER! They are cheap and easy to replace, however dell has proprietary power supplies so you can't just go pick up a new one at the store. You must contact dell and order a new one. Once you have the part spend the few dollars to have it installed by a professional. If you are getting some action when starting (sounds, lights, ect.) it could be any number of things, but judging by the slow down I would say overheating. Again spend a few dollars to have a professional look for signs of heat damage and replace and bad components (hopefully not your system board) and install a new fan or additional cooling methods to prevent in the future.

Bij doorstarten moet ik steeds f1 indrukken en bij het afsluiten krijg ik een blauw scherm met de tekst Hardware malfuction call your hardware vendor for support NMI:parity check/memery parity...

NMI parity error (Non-maskable Interrupt) is generally a motherboard or a RAM issue.
You can try flashing the BIOS to A04 (You'll need to copy the flash executable to a bootable CD or bootable USB drive to run the flash.
Try individual or different RAM modules
if all those do not resolve, issue is most likely the motherboard.

Where and how do i remove the video card from a dimesion 3000

A Dell Dimension will most likely have the video card built into the motherboard. If you are installing a new higher-end video card, just install it in the PCI slot and plug your monitor into that card and install the drivers from the provided CD when windows boots up.

I have dell dimesion 3100c when i turn it on the power on the cpu turns green , stayed amber/orange solid not blinking on the monitor and the pc wont boot. the monitor does not show anything but...

The green light on your computer is just there to show you that your computer is on. It is receiving power. Your computer is not POSTing often described as a no POST. Power On Self Test. One beep from the onboard speaker represent all is in good working order. However if you hear no beeps then some-thing is wrong, like in your case. Start by removing the side panel of your case. Remove the BIOS/CMOS battery for about one minute and the reinstall it in the correct orientation. This will load default settings. Now power on your computer. Does it work! If no then ensure that the fingers of the RAM modules are clean, use tissue paper and ensure that they are correctly installed. Remove the graphics card and reinstall it applying even pressure throughout the card and gently push it into the slot. There may be a little clip ensure it locks into place. If you can it is recommended to use the onboard VGA for your testing. Limit the number of variables by disconnecting all hard drives and DVD drives. Install RAM modules one at a time in alternate slots. Clean the computer of any dust, pay special attention to the CPU cooler as this must be kept cool at all times.
Let me know if this works for you, I am here to help.

Dell computer won't boot

I have the same problem with the same computer. If you get alarming beeping sounds and the fans whir, but there is no video- then the problem is most likely with the RAM. Try re-inserting the RAM sticks. Otherwise- if there are no beeping sounds and no video but the fans work or if the computer seems to be booting up but there is no video then the problem is probably with the video card. Try reconnecting the video cable and re-seating the video card. RAM slots and card slots are not very good.
Otherwise- if you get no power at all and just a blinking amber light on the front of the computer-then you have the same problem as me.I don't know.

Try using Old RAM. If old RAM works well and new show the same behaviour, then new RAM timmings are not matching with the motherboard timmings. (

Which RAM to use for Soltek SL-75DRV/-v

Leif: The difference in the numbers (2700 versus 3200) is speed rating-- basically, the higher the number the faster the RAM. Your computer is currently using 2700, so it's safe to use 3200, it's just faster than is currently used/specified.
Your computer is a Socket A - AMD Via-based board, so it is likely the motherboard will accept 1 GB memory modules. With three slots open, you would want to buy 2, 1-GB modules for best results. At current pricing, that would cost about $100. 2- 512MB modules would be next-best and around $55. Be sure to place the two modules in the slots next to each other, and closest to the processor for best results.

Acer Aspire 3100 boot up problem

unless it is something more serious, first keep pressing F8 when you turn on the notebook and it should enter safe mode. When in safe mode select the operating system that is highlighted and then a screen will appear with options, one being 'Last Known good Configuration', highlight this and press enter. The system will reboot and start again in windows as normal hopefully. If you are not able to get a screen showing in safe mode there is something more serious wrong and it could be hard drive fault or motherboard, but if you can see the disc drive light flickering the system is loading and you may have a graphical fault.
