I fail to see how a TOWER desktop computer ram memory replacement guide, and laptop ram memory replacement guide, has ANYTHING to do with an ALL-IN-ONE desktop computer. Also,.....WHO rated this?

1) Computer off, and unplugged from power.

2) Follow Anti-Static Precautions.

3) Handle the Ram Memory module/s ('Stick') by the Body. Refrain from touching the gold plated contact pins on the bottom,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Generic_DDR_Memory_%28Xytram%29.jpg

You can click on the photo to enlarge. You can enlarge twice. Here you see a basic example of desktop computer ram memory.

This particular example is DDR Sdram. 184 contact pins. 92 on each side. Everywhere but the contact pins, is the Body of the ram memory module.

Note the Side Locating Notch on both sides, and the Locating Notch on the bottom.
(Actually with this particular module, there are two Side Locating Notches, on both sides. Only ONE is used on each side, however)

Note how the bottom Locating Notch is slightly off to one side.
This Locating Notch lines up with a Locating Lug, in the bottom of the ram memory slot.

The ram memory module can ONLY be installed in ONE direction.

There are spring clips which hold the ram memory module in place.

Towards the top of the spring clip, there is a small rounded 'bump', or protrusion. This 'bump' rests in the Side Locating Notch.

The top of the spring clip is eased out, (BOTH clips), and the bump is drawn back from the Side Locating Notch.
With both clips eased out, the ram memory module is brought straight up, and removed.

To install the bottom Locating Notch is lined up with the Locating Lug, in the bottom of the ram memory slot.
Then the spring clips (2ea) are eased out, and the ram memory module installed in the ram memory slot.

4) Opening the Micron ClientPro 414 All-In-One desktop computer, to upgrade Ram Memory;

Looking at the Back of the computer observe the compartment panel at the Top/Right. Loosen the screws, ease the panel out AT THE SCREW SIDE.
The other side has plastic tabs, which go down in the back panel of the computer.

Ram Memory:
ClientPro 414 comes with one 'stick' (Module) of 512MegaByte ram memory.
(512MB)
{ According to reviews of the computer }

It is DDR2 Sdram that operates up to 533MegaHertz. (533MHz)

It is PC2-4200. (Can also be referred to as PC2-4300. It's just up to the ram memory manufacturer)

The Maximum Total Amount of ram memory is 2GB. (2GigaByte)
EACH ram memory slot can handle 1GB.

In otherwords one PC2-4200 in each ram memory slot, and is 1GB.

[ Processor: Intel Pentium 4, model 530.
Operates Up To a maximum frequency rate of 3.0Gigahertz. (3.0GHz)
Uses a Socket 478 processor socket,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Pentium_4_microprocessors#Prescott_.2890.C2.A0nm.29_2

Under the Prescott (90nm) heading scroll down to Pentium 4 HT 530.

Socket 478 processor socket,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socket_478

The motherboard chipset is an Intel 915G,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_chipsets#Pentium_4.2FPentium_D.2FPentium_EE_chipsets

Here you see information on what Processors are supported, and what ram memory.

Pentium 4 or Celeron D processors.
(Celeron D is a Single Core processor. Pentium D is a Dual Core)

Ram memory that is DDR2 Sdram, at either 400MegaHertz, or 533MHz.
(PC2-3200 and PC2-4200/4300, respectively)

[ A Processor,, and Ram Memory, operate at a Frequency Rate. Often termed 'Speed', for easier understanding.

What 'Speed' does it operate at, is the same as what Frequency Rate does it operate at. (Actually,..UP TO)

Mega stands for approximately 1 Million.
Giga Stands for approximately 1 Billion.
Hertz stands for Cycles per Second.

PC2-4200 ram memory for example, can operate Up To a frequency rate of 533 Million Cycles per Second ]

SOURCE: Get My Drivers

Hi,
The company that built the ClientPro 414 for MPC sold it to several other companies. It is also known as the Mecer Multimedia PC L19IA.

Here are the XP drivers directly from Mecer:

OK I solved my own problem by removing the upper right rear panel (two screws). The ram modules are right there and easily changed out.

Clientpro 414 won't read a dvd with an iso file.

Judging by this review, your computer possesses a CD drive and NOT a DVD drive.

Your best luck at installing Linux (Good choice for an old computer by the way) would be to use a USB Drive for the installation.

You should find the instructions for creating a USB Drive and for booting from live USB on the website of the Linux distribution you're trying to install.

Good luck!

Does my clientpro 414 support windows 8?

You might be better of getting a newer computer to run windows 8 to get the maximum benefits from it.

Your computer probably has xp on it and although being the benchmark of windows is probably outdated

You must have at least 1GB (DDR) RAM module to run Windows 8 efficiently.
