Hi,
I think you have lost your precious Remote because you don't do it by yourself if you have not any experience about electronics. You made a mistake to wash it out with alcohol and i think you didn't give time to dry it.And moisture was still there and you you connect batteries with it too. That's why you feel hot.It means that a short circuit has been occurred in it.My advise is to contact any expert nearby to you and avoid any new experiment on it.It can be repaired yet.
Thanks.

The volume control is not working properly on my CT-90319 remote controller.

Take the remote apart and clean all the rubber pads beneath and the PC board with the black resistive ink on it with a Q tip and isopropynol alcohol.

Then clean with a soft pink pencil eraser, and clean again with the q tip and alcohol.

It is best to do all of the buttons once apart, but if you only wish to get that one working, then just do the volume control buttons.

Don't be afraid to do this.........it is easier than it seems!

That will get you up and running again pending there is no small fractures in the resistive ink. 90% chance of working!

I hope this helps you!

Vcr remote control not working.

Hi! Bella , more research needed .... do you match each remote to its own VCR model?...did they ever work ?...have you put batteries in wrong polarity ?...are the VCR's at fault or blinded by ambient light ?.....are you pointing remotes correctly ?.....try your remotes on dealer's VCR's @ his shop & get dealer to try his remotes on your VCR's , or find a friend with same gear & do the tests there.......that should identify the problem[s] .... take careful notes of the results... & go from there.......jimbanjo

I put my remote control in my drink can I dry it out?

Possibly. don't press any buttons!..take out the batteries..take it apart.(this make take a bit, but check for small screws in the battery compartment, then squeeze the case at the "seam" and work it apart.. wash the case with warm soapy water..take circuit board (if it isn't fried) and wash with an electronic spray solvent or high grade alcohol that evaporates quickly...wash the rubbery button pad lightly with soapy water , then high grade alcohol...let everything air dry or lightly dry with hair dryer (set on cool setting)...reassemble and cross your fingers.
this has worked in the past, but all night in cordial,,,i can't make any promises.

I spilled coffee on the remote. Now it won't work

Open the remote control and clean it. Never insert batteries in this wet condition. It will make thing worse. If you wish to know more about how to clean a remote control, check this link.

My volume up on the Harmony 880 won't work. I've heard that one person did take it apart to clean the contacts, but that didn't solve the issue. Any suggestions? I don't even care if I...

If the buttons used to work then yeah it sounds like a hardware issue. You can go ahead and take the remote apart, but I don't think you will be able to fix it, unless you are good at soldering. Cleaning the contacts alone won't help. This same thing happened to the most used buttons on my Harmony One, and I just assigned the commands to the screen, so I could continue using the remote without those buttons.
If you want to try assigning the buttons to the screen, the steps in this article by Logitech will help:

I hope this helps.

Buttons do not work on my URC-8910

Most modern infrared remotes have a tendancy, after much use, for the contact between the button and the pad to get dirty or greasy or tarnished, etc.. I've serviced many of them and I take them apart (some not easy--have to remove a screw--maybe not). Anyway the pad surface has to be cleaned. I use a cloth dampened with alcohol and wipe over them and in some cases I need to take a soft pencil eraser and polish them. Hardest part is getting the unit apart.
