Technika LCD / DVD 22" - Speaker Problems

One speaker works but the other does'nt. The side thats, volume has to be kept low or it makes a buzzing sound. When opened up, both speakers appear to be undamaged and intact. Can they be repaired or need to be replaced?

Turn up the volume on your iPhone. Also, try connecting your iPhone or any other media player, e.g. computer, to the AUX IN jack on the speaker and see if the volume is higher for that connection.

How to adjust volume on left speaker? volume is extremely low on that side.

Its most likely the balance or fader that is causing the volume difference. set both of them to the mid setting ( usually straight up on a round dial) and check the volume again. if its still low check the speaker wire connection if it looks good on the bad side try swapping the cables from left to right. if the same side is still low the issue is most likely the amp.

Wotcha, i've just taken amp out of storage, has'nt been used for a while cant get volume to work properly the sound goes from speaker to speaker and up and down in volume whilst crackeling a lot as...

One way of proving it ISN'T the amp circuitry is to remove the pre-main jumpers and jack in a source that has its own volume control (or try a CD that starts really low) because this bypasses ALL the amps controls. If it sounds ok (albeit LOUD) I'd suspect oxidized contacts on the controls. Turn it off and vigorously operate all controls a zillion times to wear through it. In mosty cases it's the unused controls that fail because they never get wiped. Maybe a shot of contact cleaner on those you can access.

If I understand you, you're observing the speaker cone moving in one direction without any input. That would say the internal amp is malfunctioning and pushing DC to the speaker. Beyond that I can't say, but it is endangering the driver.

Hello! I'm having problems during a phone call with my speaker volume being too low unless speaker phone is on. All other sounds are loud & clear. I've tried resetting & turning the phone...

Did you happen to update to iOS 5? Because since the update. Mine has been the same way. The volume is very low. and sometimes even the speaker isn't too loud either unless I'm playing music.

If you did not update to iOS 5. Then your speaker might be blocked and easily cleaned with a cotton swab, or the speaker is just old and going out.

What is speaker A low imp . how to use speaker B.thank.

The Low Impedance setting is for when you have even one speaker with <8-ohms nominal impedance so you can use bot speaker pairs together. You still need to have an effective total (parallel) impedance of 4-ohms minimum or there may be problems like blowing up the amps.

Press and hold the SPEAKERS A or B button until LOW IMP lights or goes out, as required.

Press either button to toggle that speaker pair on or off.

It's in the manual page 14, 22 and 25.

When I turn the volume up even a little bit, the protect light comes on and stays on

Try disconnecting the speaker cables, then turn it up and see if it protects. If not, then connect one speaker at a time (on very low volume otherwise could pop the amp) and see if you can identify a faulty speaker/channel. Then try a known working speaker on the amp channel that is giving problems (to eliminate a fault with the amp). If the known working speaker also trips the amp, then it is that channel faulty. Hopefully you get away with a bad speaker wire though!!

Best of luck
