Question about Linksys Wireless-G WRT54G Router
My user id and password no longer works after hard reset of the router. There was no wireless connection before and now it works but it is unsecured. How do change the settings on the router.
When you do a hard reset it will reset you router. what you need to do is login to your router using the factor seting and reconfigure the router again

The default username and password is "user". For the security settings, you need to setup WEP/WPA-PSK etc. Steps are outlined in the manual.

Default login info for Linksys routers is:
User: BLANK (don't enter anything)
If you never changed it, that is what it probably still is.
This will also be the info you need to use if you perform a reset, like one of the other posters mentioned.

Press the reset button for 10 seconds. It set the factory default
settings. The router will erase all information, the DSL settings too.
After that you can login in with the default password, via web
The default username and password is admin/admin.
I hope it hekos.

Your users guide will better explain this; however, if you do have any other questions, please let us know.
Here is a link for your users guide online:
You will find important information in Chapter 2 and information for setting up WPA in Chapter 3 Under Wireless > Wireless Security
Hope this helps.

Hard reset the router ... find the small hole on the back ... depress with a paper clip for 30 or so seconds.
Get Network Magic to help you manage your network.
