What is formula to find percentage of females in my workplace?

To get around this, you can calculate your numbers as percentages first. For example, if you type the formula =10/100 in cell A2, Excel will display the result as 0.1. If you then format that decimal as a percentage, the number will be displayed as 10%, as you 'd expect.Aug 2, 2011

242/6 Need the breakdown of this division, on calculator gave 40,3 By hand 4,3 Can someone help me on this

There is something wrong with your hand calculation.

40 multiplied by 6 is 240, which is close to 242, so 40 is close to 242/6. On the other hand, 4 multiplied by 6 is 24, which isn't even close to 242. Apparently you slipped a decimal point when you divided 240 by 6.

242/6 is 40 and one-third, or 40.333.... Rounded to one digit after the decimal point, it is 40.3.

Setting a Formula

You should use the formula COUNT (Cell1, Cell2), please replace Cell1 and Cell2 for the range of your cells in Excell. You could use too the formula COUNT.IF(Cell1,Cell2,Criterion), Cell1 and Cell2 is the range of cells when can exist an entry.
Example The final formula is like:
COUNT(A1:A5)/COUNT.IF(A1:A5,"=x")*100

Excel formula

the formulae for the surface area of round disc is
pi * r * r
where pi=3.14 and r =radious of disc= diametre/2

for this 1st u have 2 calculate the radious of the disc that is
180/2=90mm
then convert it to  m by dividing 1000 ,so radious=90/1000=0.09 m
finally calculate the area= 3.14 * 0.09 * 0.09=0.025434 sq metres
for 38 disc multiply 38 with the above area that is
0.025434 * 38=0.966492 sq metres

in excel 2007  u can do it more easily by going 2 formulas tab.
Under formla tab click on engineering formula and  then convert
here u can convert from mm to m
after converting use the above formula i just told u.

Excel Formula

Yes you can and there are two choices. The simple solution is to label a cell "divide by" and put your number in that filed. Then, by changing only that, your answer (in a separate cell) will be available.
There are more complex solutions -assuming your divide by number had some rhyme and reason that could be put in place but.....try this first and at a later date go back and play. Learning to do that will give you more than a fair amount of Excel expertise....something you may find fairly valuable as you continue on using Excel. FYI...I have developed full blown applications on Excel....it is an excellent tool. Hope this helps....Tango.
