SOURCE: Hunter ceiling fan

Sounds like the remote receiver units (located where the mains connect to the fans) took a surge and have failed.

Don't have a solution to this problem, but I'm having a similar problem. The remote works for the fan but the other day we had a light bulb burn out and ever since then the switch on the remote for the light will not work, but the fan works just fine. If anyone has a solution please post it or email me at dustinbrown_18@hotmail.com Thanks

SOURCE: Hunter ceiling fan (model no. 25736) and light not starting

Home Depot sells universal remote systems (transmitter and receiver) for around $30 (in Delaware & Pennsylvania) -- don't know price in Chicago).

I'd just replace it. Hunter may be correct that they are the only source for the receiver, but if you get a new transmitter as well, you don't need their receiver. The labor is the same either way.

SOURCE: Hunter 52" ceiling fan model 23457-380, the remote lights up

check the hard wiring from the factory. Where the light kit attaches to the fan check the wires in the factory cubes to make sure none are coming off. I had a similar problem that kicked my **** for a few minutes but I saw a loose wire after a bit of research. My fan also clicked but never turned on. Also pull the chains on the fan/light to make sure they are on. Hope something works for you.

SOURCE: Hunter ceiling fan remote problem

You will most likely need to replace the receiver with a new one from hunter. The receiver is actually a complete controller and contains the receiver, relays (which you hear clicking) and starting condensors(large capacitors which hold a charge that is "dumped" over the windings to get the motor to start from a dead stop). These appear to be pretty tightly assembled unless you have a desire to start replacing parts "off the board."

The remote does not always control the light or fan. The light on the remote does not always come on with button depression?

The remote may need corrective therapy to restore operation. If the light does not turn on when a button is pressed, suspect batteries need to be replaced but the problem could be a stuck button. Remove the batteries and press all buttons to "unstick" them, then install new batteries and test operation.

Erratic light/fan selection can be due to power interruptions. If you disconnect power at the source and wait a few minutes before reconnecting, light/fan control may be restored.

Remote for my hamton bay ceiling fan 70 inch model DL-4109S-01 won't work. How can I get it to work?

first off see if the remote is working
if it is a point in the fan direction is is probably infred operation. to check turn on the camera of your mobile phone and point the remote at the lens
if it is working then a white light will appear on the screen of the phone when you press on the remote on button and disappear when the off button is pressed
if that works then it will be in the receiver in the fan

The good news is that the fan functions properly. Now, do the following.

1. Turn off power to fixture at the breaker

2. Remove batteries from remote and press all buttons to eliminate a stuck button as a cause. Reinstall batteries

3. Turn on power and test operation of remote. Be sure to hold dimming button down until lights respond

Need manual for harbor breeze fan model # LP8063

The remote went bad, this is very common. These are great fans with poor design and cheap remotes. Go to Lowe's buy the new kit ( model: RCE-103LW) $30 bat included. Put battery in and turn off light switch. Have a bic pen ready with the battery cover off. Turn on light switch and press "learn" red button with the pen . You will have to hold it down for about 5 secs. The fan will the turn on medium if it took to learning the new remote. All buttons should now work normal. Return old remote to store for exchange they have a 1year return to to store warenty per the company rep. Anyother problems call 1 800 527 1292. They have good cust. Service.

When the mode button is pushed, I only receive the option of dehumidifying, or just fan. The manual claims it has a heat option but it is not available. A friend of mine has the same one and they have the...

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.

Their has to be a model difference issue . I have checked the Manuel and have put a copy of the section, for modes. and their is no heat only mode.

Your unit uses heat anyway, so i really do not know how, heat only would help you. I would say to look at the sticker on your friends model, and see if the numbers are exact.

Default Setting:

When the unit is first connected to a power supply, the electronic circuit board will automatically default to the following factory settings;
Mode: Dehumidifier Humidity Set Air Value:60% RH Fan Speed: = Low

NOTE: In the event of a power failure or the unit is switched 'Off', the most recent settings are retained and restored once the power is switched "On"/resumed.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Depending on the ambient humidity conditions, when power is restored or switched 'On' the dehumidifier may not start automatically under the factory or custom (see page 7) default setting. This is an indica- tion that the ambient RH% level of the surrounding envi- ronment is lower than the current default setting and it may be necessary to select a lower set RH% value.
DRY MODE SELECTION: 1. The unit does not have to be switched on (opera- tional) to select/set a program. All programs can be selected with the unit in the "off" position.
2. Press the MODE button until the Dry symbol is shown in the mode area of the display. Note: Each time the MODE button is pressed, the setting will alternate between DRY (dehumidifier) and FAN (only) mode.

3. Press the or cursor buttons to select the desired RH% operating value. To select CONTINUOUS operation, pressthe buttonuntilthesymbol"--" appears in the SET AIR display. During CONTINUOUS mode operation, the humidistat (control) will be by-passed and the compressor will operate non-stop regardless of humidity conditions.
FAN SPEED SELECTION:

4. Press the fan symbol on the keypad. Each time the button is pressed, the mode selection will alternate between "High Fan" and "Low Fan" speed options. The fan speed you select will appear in the LED display; either a 4 blade fan symbol for 'high fan' or a 3 blade fan symbol for 'low fan' will be shown in the display area.

5. When all settings are complete, press the I/O button to start the selected operation (MODE) and the blue opera- tion light will illuminate.

FAN ONLY MODE SELECTION:
1. Press the MODE button until the fan blade symbol is shown in the mode area of the display. 2. Press the "Fan" symbol on the keypad. Each time the button is pressed, the mode selection will alternate between "High Fan" and "Low Fan" speed options.
3. When all settings are complete, press the on/off button to start fan mode operation and the blue operation light will illuminate.

mcdevito75 here, Double check your barrey install in the remote, evn new batteries could be weak, also, you may have to get to the shroud just at the ceiling, that"s the cover for the fans wireing, and see if the reciever eye for the remote is clean. Also does the remote have to be programed to operate the fan.

Hello burrow31. There maybe a switch located on the fan stating 'remote/manual'. Check your manual. Remove the battiers in your remote and short out the battery contact terminals. Reinstall the battiers, start the fan and after fan has reached set speed press & hold fan speed button for one second. Still no speed change contact the Mgfr. with model & serial #.

Fan remote operates fan, won't operate light

If you press and hold the light button, it will step up in brightness to max then back down to dark. Then when you press the button briefly it will turn off and then press button briefly again it will turn on at the intensity you had it at last. So if you are one tick from off you may not notice it is "on" because it is dark. A second possibility is that you replaced the bulbs with a compact flourescent and they are not always happy with adjustable brightness, often they will be on or off, no middle ground. I recommend sticking with old school bulbs in the fan.
