Behringer PMP1000 Powersupply burned

I bought a Behringer PMP 1000 and since I bought I couldn't use. 3 days after the shipment its burned, and for my surprise the shop who sold the product said that there isn't warranty. Since that I'm looking for a tech for fix it, but in Brazil is very hard to find a good tech. So what I need is a new power supply for PMP 1000, if you know where I can buy a new one, I really appreciate your help. Otherwise I will need to throw away, and to honest I don't want

SOURCE: How do i hook up my new behringer pmp 5000 mixer

Passive loudspeakers are connected to the two "Speakon" connectors on the back of the unit. BUY GOOD cables for your speakers!!!! Whatever you do don't have a speaker line come loose while driving audio out !!! You will arc- out the rear-most power amp... I know, I repaired two of these now with the problem.

Connect the recording device to either the "tape OUT" RCA jacks or either of the pairs of MAIN out TRS jacks.

Set the slide switch for the MAIN L/MAIN R (upper position) leave this in this position unless you understand what the other positions are for to avoid damage. You will NOT need the other positions.

Further: Power ALL interconnect devices from the SAME receptacle source to avoid ground loops and possible damage.

YOUR passive speakers should be rated at least 300 Watts RMS continuos power handling or 600 Watts peaks.

Drive consumer stereo speakers with this and you will smoke the speakers and MAYBE blow the amp. This is a powerful amplifier and if you don't have at least 15 inch speakers you MUST really hold down the volume lest you blow the speakers.

Above all read the manual... yes, it is a bit hard to understand...

If you have a problem you can contact me by email for a bit of help. I have wo of these I have been using at venues now.

The mixer has SOME circuit protection and if a short develops on a speaker or cabling, the circuit will shut down that channel.

PLEASE read my tip on FIXYA tips regarding a HAZARD with PMP powered mixers IF you use Speakon to 1/4 inch plugs for your speaker system.

ESSENTIALLY, if you use such a cable do NOT let the barrel of the "A" channel touch or connect to the system ground as the BARREL of the "A" channel is the HOT lead. The "B" channel barrel is ground.

If you EVER blow a fuse do NOT replace it before servicing the unit as you will cause massive damage within the unit... I know, I have repaired several of these units.

I suspect you MAY be having a speaker or cabling shorting which shuts down the amp when the protection circuits activate. If you can turn off the amp and restart it after 30 seconds this is the likely cause... REMEMBER do NOT go below 4 ohms per channel on the speakers.

Another thing, if you use the MAIN L and R output 1/4 inch jacks, those MUST be TRS balanced lines. Do NOT plug 1/4 inch MONO plugs into those particular jacks.

A lot of this information I have gleaned from the schematics.

Behringer pmp 3000 power supply got burnt, where can i purchase the power supply.

That , as far as I know, can only be bought through Behringer. They will probably NOT sell it to you or help you. THEY want you to buy a new one. This is one of those companies that has most of their semiconductors marked and labeled with odd numbers of their own so a technician will have no clue what values they are or where to get them. Behringer is the one main brand of equipment I have never been able to get ANY parts for other than colored resistors or diodes, some caps, switches and lights. Finding a schematic is easier done than to actually find replacement parts. Sorry, wish I could help more while being as honest as possible.

The PMH1000 is VERY close to the PMP1000 and circuitry is almost identical:

Scroll down to "Get Manual" and click on it to download... IGNORE other downlooad links. Also please read my tip about a hazard for PMP mixers regarding using SPeakon to 1/4 inch plugs for speakers. The tip of channel B is the hot... BUT the sleeve of channel A is hot and grounding it can blow channel A amp. This has class "D" switching power amps which are efficient. The power supply is a switching type that runs off the line voltage. Working on the supply requies using an isolation transformer for personal safety.

What is a "speaker board"??? Nothing like that listed in the parts list.
Likely the power amps are dead... the common cause of the problem.

Behringer europower pmp1000, mixer unit, has all leds lit ,is responding to mic. input, bur is not producing any ourput to speakers, can you advise please.

ALL LED's should NOT be lit all the time. If thsy are, there is a failure in the power supply.

plug headphones into the 1/4 inch main output jacks on the top... you will only hear sound in the left side headphone for each. This would verify the preamp is working.

Final amplifier shuttoff after a few seconds

Guessing this happens each time you switch on so it's not a power problem.

Amps have built in mechanisms to shut themselves off to protect from overheating. First thing to do is check the vents are clean and the fan is working properly.

I need a tech in Sonoma or Marin county who service Behringer products

I will give you a hint about selecting a repair facility. You will need to find a repair service that is CAPABLE of troubleshooting to the component level. Replacement modules in this are essentially NOT available from Behringer so one has to replace individual components.

No amp output.amplifier damage

You will have to have it repaired. Also read my tip regarduing the PMP mixer/amps that if you use 1/4 inch cable plugs to speakers, the SLEEVE of channel A is hot, not the tip. It the sleeve shportss to somehing that is ground, goodbye Channel A or more. This is not in the book.
