SOURCE: lens error with lxus 8515

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

You can also have a look at THIS link.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance.

Regards
Andrea

How do i fix error 23 on my cannon lxus 130?

Error 23 is the same as Err 04 in other Canon camera's. It means too many images. Te camera can't find space to put your images.
There can be several causes, but most of the time there are just too many pictures (or other files) on the memory card.
There is also a possibility, the card is not correctly formatted, or the filesystem has become corrupted, so the camera can't find out where is space to put your pictures.
Try this:
First check if you can find images on the card, and try to save them to a computer. Use the Zoom browser software, or use an external card reader connected to the computer. When you saved all pictures, you can free some space by deleting some pictures, but the best way is to format the card in the camera.
Also check if the lock switch is NOT on the lock position.

Hi i have "canon digital camera lxus 200 ls" with 16 gigs memory card, i can shoot 86 mins seperately, 10mins and 10 and 10 ETC.. i don't know why can't i shoot 86 mins in one time. sorry if my...

The IXUS 200 IS is intended and designed as a still camera, not as a video camera.

Some countries charge higher tax rates for video cameras than they do for still cameras. By limiting the maximum length of video clips to ten minutes, this camera does not qualify as a video camera and thus is taxed at a lower rate.

Wont take a picture with the flash on!! help

Here are some simple things to try first for a camera that won't take a picture when the shutter button is pressed, or with an inoperative flash. They won't work for every case, but they're worth a try:
