Question about Creative Labs Gigaworks S750 Computer Speakers
Got the S750's an the fuse blew, replaced it, power led came on, an the pod works, however all the speakers produce distortion when music is played, or any input. tested all the speakers on another amp an they are fine. checked all the boards for burnouts but nothing. I'm pretty good with a soldering iron an i can probably replace any faulty stuff, i just need a helping hand on what to look for an where, i do have a multi metre for checking componants. Thanks for any advice!
Your problem sounds like it is the high voltage power supply not working. I would start by checking the IRF740 MOSFETs on the power supply board. Below I have pasted a link to a forum thread about fixing the Gigaworks S750 systems. There is a lot of information there about the problem you are experiencing as well as complete diagrams of the power supply and good pictures.
