I can not get colors to converge the option does not come up in the menu

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. From what you have described it seems that you have to replace the convergence IC and also check the power resistor, if values are not exact you have to replace them. These ICs are located behind the black heat sink; you can see once you open the back off the TV. All this is only recommended if you have electrical expertise and know how to solder/re-solder components. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Can someone help Panasonic tv will not turn on power light 3 blinks and a pause (pt-53wx42-53

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. 3 blinks issue means failed convergence (STK) ICs which needs to be replaced. To do this yourself you should require some basic knowledge about soldering-re-soldering components. To start with you’ll have to open the back of the unit and then replace the ICs (STK ICs) which are located behind the black heat sink and also check the resistors as if they are short the ICs might blow again after sometime. There are repair kits available which includes repair instructions with the parts, if you want to do it yourself, you can buy and repair it yourself. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

These ICs are located behind the black heat sink; you can see once you open the back off the TV. Also, the convergence board should be checked for cracked solder joints and please make sure to check the resistors as if they are shot the ICs might blow again. All this is only recommended if you have electrical expertise and know how to solder/re-solder components, if not then you should get this done by a professional. The typical cost to get this fixed by a pro is around $250-$300. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

There are 3 distinct colors showing up almost like a 3-D image. red, blue, and green. What is the problem and how much would it cost to fix in a RCA Projection HD TV 52 inch?

Panasonic (PT-56HX41PF) rear-projection tv with no picture

The three blinks indicates a convergence IC fault. The convergence ICs must be replaced with the manufacturer replacement part. Use only the original replacement part. Your set uses STK392-110 convergence ICs.
These ICs are mounted on a large heat sink. Yes, you can replace it yourself and save few hundred bucks. But you must be knowledgeable enough on how to solder, resolder and use a multimeter.
You will need:
  1. Convergence ICs
  2. Heat sink grease or thermal compound
  3. Soldering iron
  4. Solder lead.
  5. Digital multimeter
  6. Solder pump
  7. Small side cutter
Feel free to inform me if you decide to replace the ICs yourself

Did you replace both ICs? If so check the solder connections if they are ok you may have the resistor that controls the blue vertical yoke open. Check the resistors for one being open if the solder looks good on the pins of the new ICs
