When put in reverse the image is up side down.

How to Reverse the Image on Backup Camera eHow

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT REAR VIEW CAMERAS

After installing a backup camera on your vehicle, you need to reverse the image so that the image on the screen matches that of your rear-view mirror. The orientation must match so that the driver doesn't get confused with two conflicting images. The nature of the camera's technology is that its image will be recorded un-reflected, but the mirror will display a reflected image. Fortunately, the engineers who designed back-up cameras thought of this and created simple controls for you to change the orientation.

Hi - I'm trying to install backup camera - it needs 12v - can I hook the power up with reverse tail light - I suspect it is 6v only? I want to poser the camera when reversing the car. Thanks

Your camera is 12V. You suspect the reverse tail light is 6V. If your vehicle is 12V, as most are, then the reverse light is 12V. Some vehicles, large trucks, etc., may be 24V, but 6 V vehicles haven't been around for many decades. Confirm that your camera voltage matches the vehicle voltage.
Related to your question- There may be times other than when you are in reverse that you want to have the camera on. For example, if you are installing it on a motor home. I've driven a MH with the camera on most of the time and it has been useful as it provides a better view immediately behind the vehicle than the side view mirrors. If we don't want it we can turn off the monitor.
If you don't have a live 12V feed at the back of your vehicle, you could either run the wire from the front from a terminal which is switched on when the key is "on", or consider connecting it to a tail light wire. You'd have to turn on the tail lights to have the camera activate, but you can do that any time and leave them on while driving. At night the camera would always be on, but the monitor can be switched off. Bear in mind that some cameras can take several seconds (especially when cold outside) to provide a decent picture, so if you connect it to the reverse light you may need to be patient before backing.

My pioneer double din screen says ''Caution, screen image may appear reversed''...how can i solve this problem?

Hi,

As you know, you can use this DVD AV Receiver with a rear view camera. And also it can be installed to switch automatically from the video to rear view image when the gear shift of the car is moved to Reverse position.

But it is important to use a camera which outputs mirror reversed images.
Otherwise the screen image may appear reversed. And this means that you will see the rear view reversed in the monitor. And that may cause accicent and injury.

To solve this problem, first check your rear camera whether it has the capability to output mirror reversed images.

If it is, then check the wire connections of the rear camera using the operation manual or ask a technician.

Also check the settings of camera polarity if it is set properly or not in the system menu when connecting the rear view camera.

You can download the operation manual (pdf file) by clicking here.

I hope this helps.

If you would like to vote for the answer, this will help the others to see the similar problems solved and also will be a satisfaction factor for me to continue helping you.

All the best.

What does the green/white wire connect to on my jensen vm9312hd? Says it is reverse +

Rear View Camera Input: The VM9313 features a composite video input and a green/white wire lead attached to the harness for connection of a rear view camera. If a rear-view video camera is connected, the unit is on, and the TFT monitor is retracted inside the unit, the TFT monitor automatically moves into the viewing position and Camera modes is selected upon shifting into Reverse gear. When shifting into Drive gear, the TFT monitor is retracted back inside the unit. If the monitor is already in a viewing position and in display mode, the monitor automatically switches to Camera mode upon shifting into Reverse. When the reverse driving stops, the monitor returns to its original input display mode. You can choose for the monitor to display a Mirror mode image or a Normal mode image from the rear-view camera.

Rear view camera setting???

Dear debbie,
This could be caused by the following:
Purple/white "reverse sensor wire" not connected to vehicles reverse lamp harness. (Are your reverse lamps functioning?)
OR
Reverse cam video out not connected to Kenwood's "rear view camera input" (Yellow RCA socket behind the unit).
The monitor set up controls merely switch R-cam betwen "full, just, zoom and normal" modes. No provision here to ebnable or disable the cam.
When you put your car in reverse dos the monitor screen change?.
