Question about Toasters

Blown element...I think?

Hi,

Dualit combi 2+1

I am not a techy but I think the element has blown. Is there somewhere in or near SW18 where I can take my toaster to be fixed?
If there is, what should the cost be?

Thanks, in advance,

Mike

Where is SW18 located? What country? I would make an estimate that repairs would cost more than a new toaster

Combi 2 plus one, bought in 2006. i need a new timer element type HI7 made by faucigny instruments. Where can i get hold of one of these spare parts?

I think the MI7 timer is equivalent. The best prices are on ebay. You can also check in with appliance repair shops. Electra-Craft lists Dualit timers, but again, I am not sure if these are what you need: http://www.mcssl.com/store/electra-craft/catalog/search?keyword=dualit+timer

How do you replace a centre element of a Dualit 3 slice toaster?

You can buy the elements from ebay uk and for 110 v also, they are so slim and light that they ship them in normal envelope and arrived in no time.
You can follow the instruction in the link what to order and how to replace.
We have the procedure here in this link

Good luck

Dualit combi heating element 12/95

All the element's are available on e-bay u.k. for about 6.00 gbp. Alternativley you may be able to repair it. Put the toaster on it's side with the bottom facing towards you and the knobs on the top. Remove the crumb tray and then remove the bottom (usually the screws are located in the feet). There may be one more visible screw remove that too, then you will see a rail at the bottom that secures the element's in place. Loosen off the nuts at each end and slide the rail down, undo the two bolt's feeding the power to the element's and slide the element out.Go over it with a continuity meter and see where it's broken then move the element wire about to bridge the circuit.Test it again and reassemble. I repaired mine this way.Or, simply replace the element using the instructions above.Easy!
