Question about Apple iPhone 3GS Black (16 GB)

Why does iPhone 3GS shut off unexpectedly?

My iPhone 3GS turns off automatically even when the battery shows 100%. It happens almost every time I try to use it. But when I keep it plugged in to the power cable, it works fine. Is changing the battery a solution to it? Based on my research online, many says no. Someone please help!

My 3Gs Iphone was working fine with 85% battery life and then just shut off and will not power back on. Any ideas on how to turn it back on??

Try a hard reset: Menu button plus power button together for 5 sec. If that doesn't work there is a motherboard problem. If Apple doesn't replace it for you, you can find the logic board on Ebay or at iPhone 3GS Repair and if you're tech savvy, there is a guide that shows you how to put in the part at iPhone Repair Guide.
