Question about EuroTech EWF172 Front Load Washer

Open Question

Hi I have the EWF150. I washed a throw rug in it the other day and alot of the rubber backing came off the rug in tiny little pieces I have a feeling that the debri plugged up the drainage system. The washer drains but only partially, the water level is just about at the bottom of the door. Is their access to an area that could potentially get clogged and prevent drainage. How can i get access to tyhe service manual?

SOURCE: I washed a blanket that

the sites are currently under maintenacne i could look for a site for schematics for you in the morning usually when this happens one of the first things you would do is disassemble so that you can see the pump and drain hose then remove the pump and drain hoses and clean out all the debris stuck inside the drain lines and the pump after you do this you would also have to find a way of either picking out the pieces stuck in the inner tub and washing out the ones in the outter tub its a slow process of putting the hoses and pump back on and then taking them off and clearing out any stuck pieces i had the same thing happen when a customer threw one of those rubber backed rugs in her washer really bad idea on her part took me probably 3 hours to clean the whole thing out if you have any further questions message me back once again i will look for your schematic in the morning due to the site having maintenace this evening Thanks Rick

This becomes a long drawn out process in which you have to remove the pump and the entire drain line and wash all the backing out of the machine also you have to remove the lines that go from the tub to the pump as well and even after you finish cleaning out the drain system you still will have more pieces stuck inside the tub area that you have to clean out as well. Easiest way take the machine outside or to an area you can use a hose on the unit where after you disassemble the entire pump area that you can wash the tub out of all the small pieces of the rug backing I had the unfortunate repair of doing this to someones rubber backed rug cept it took all the rubber off the back of the rug. It took about 3 hours with hooking and rehooking the drain lines and unclogging them over and over due to this unit I was working on was in a basement and no access to a hose If you have any further questions message me back and please remember to rank how this opinion has helped it allows me to continue helping others in similar situations in the future Thanks again Rick
p.s do this repair yourself a repair technician would charge about 200 to repair the unit due to the amount of time

I washed a throw rug that the backing all came off in tiny pieces. now the water wont drain out of the washer

You probably have a stuck drain line.
Mover the washer out and remove the drain tube. It should be held on by a few screws. Make sure you have some towels handy. After removing the hose clear out and debris and re-attach. If it still does not drain repeat the process until all debris has been removed.

Washer not draining

sorry about this problem,we get this alot your drain pump is clogged,so try this take cloths out and see if you can scoop out water. Now put rooto-roter drain opener in drum and let it sit for about 1-2hrs.Now run on heavy-duty by itself it may have to go through 2 cycles,to clear out clogg.See the drain pump is real small,so dog hair, strings,or pieces of rubber from throw rugs well clog pump.So first try this.

My ge washer shuts off at 19 minutes, but filter is clean

The rug backing may have gone into the pump (the white motor thing) you might take the motor out and flush it out if it is clear and it still won't pump out the pump needs replaced.

not overfill since no water overtop just switch detecting too much water...lean washer back remove 3 screws holding bottom panel on newer pumps have torx screws in bottom id any way possible remove a much water as possible first may try leaning washer foward after removing bottom panel remove the screws in bottom of pump and clean..older pumps were harder to clean and replacement was easier but more expensive..new style comes with motor attached

Kenmore Energy Washer front load - about 5 - 7 years old

Hi mommo2,
I really hate those little rubber pieces that come off of those rugs, they really gum up everything. Just for future reference try to wash those outside with a water hose and a scrub brush. It will save you lots of money in repairs.
As for your current problem try to get as much out of the tub as possible. Then you will have to remove the small kickplate on the bottom of the washer. Get you some towels and a maybe a flat pan to catch some water. The panel will have a few screws around it that will need to be removed. Once you have removed the panel you will see your pump. The front of the pump has a filter that can be unscrewed and removed for cleaning. Unscrew the filter and get ready to catch some water. Maybe as much as a couple gallons. Once you have cleaned it out put the filter back in the pump and leave the panel off. Run the washer throught another cycle and clean the pump out again. You may need to repeat this several times. Hopefully this will solve the problem, if you still have draing issues you could have a clogged drain and for that you may need a plumber. Well good luck to you and I hope I helped. GE Washer won't drain or spin

this is something that you can fix even if your not a technical person . first you have to open the washing machine front panel or back panel , second , follow the DRAIN HOSE to where its connected to a little motor, disconnect the DRAIN HOSE , take the LITTLE MOTOR out and clean it out , it could be clogged.
it happen once and find out the person put the BATH RUG SET
to wash , the rug was so old that pieces of a rubber underneath the rugs clogged the drain , so there was no rinse and no spin.
try it , I hope it helps.
