SOURCE: Dell Latitude D600

It is the Hard drive on the system. Hard Drive is failing. Another Error code for the Hard Drive is Error Code 7. Check BIOS setup if the system still detects the Hard Drive as well. You may want to consider changing the Hard Drive on the system.

Contact Dell and request Dell Reinstallation Recovery CDs directly from Dell Technical Support. Contact them @ 1-800- 624-9896. Explain your situation. You will be asked for your service tag number of your system. As I recall they charge little more than shipping and handling to get it to you.

Good Luck!

SOURCE: when i turn on my dell latitude D505 the backlight

Either the video cable has been damaged or unplugged or the video processor is malfunctioning. Check this by connecting an external monitor. If the video is all there then press the Fn(function) and F4 key. This should switch the video from the external monitor to the internal screen. If this doesn't happen or if the external monitor shows no video then the laptop needs to see a reputable repair perso or check my website www.micromendllc.com

Dell e5420 wont start up at all

Make sure no accessories are plugged into your laptop. First remove the battery and try a bootup. If does not bootup, remove the hard drive if you can and try again. If still no full boot, you can try the DVD drive and then the memory. Replace what you have found to be the problem. If none solves the bootup problem, it is either the power supply itself or a mainboard problem, which would required service from an authorized service center from Dell. Verify the center with Dell. The parts I have indicated to try are normally easily removed from the bottom of the laptop, by removing a few small screws.

What is the problem? Open Control Panel, Power settings, Advanced power settings, set to High Preformance, Set Sleep and Hibernate to Never , Set Lid close to Shut Down, adjust setting to your preference, Always shut down your Laptop, unplug when not in use. Remove battery if you use on AC most of the time, your laptop will last longer and a boot everyday resets the computer.

I have Dell latitude E5420. There is an unknown device in my Device Manager, please guide how may I find what device it is and then its drivers.

hi

make sure your operating system is updated thoroughly (go to START, WINDOWS UPDATE)
once you have done this go to this link below, download the AUDIO drivers & BIOS driver
once this has been done, go back to the link and download all applicable drivers dated for 2010 or 2011. Once you go through all these drivers, it should resolve UNKNOWN device issue.
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=ca&cs=cabsdt1&l=en&s=bsd&ServiceTag=&SystemID=LAT_E5420&os=WLH&osl=en&catid=&impid=

download and save all drivers, then execute them one at a time.

hope this helps you ! if so , please send me 4 thumbs up
