Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC24. If dirt doesn't seem to be reaching the clear bin, it suggests there's a blockage somewhere in the machine. To locate and remove any blockages, please follow the steps shown in our online support guide:

http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=1120&product=DC24-ALLFLOORS

It's also a good idea to give the filters a wash - in normal use, this should be done at least once a month, as shown in the video below. Use cold water without detergent, and allow at least 24 hours for the filters to dry completely before replacing them.

This should resolve the issue, but for any further assistance or advice, please call us free on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).

Best wishes,

Jack

You don't! It is not meant to be dismantled. Just pour water inside it. Then let it dry out thoroughly, say, 3 to 4 days, including the filter.

    Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC25. If it doesn't seem to be picking up as well as usual, and debris seems to be coming back out of the cleaner head, it's possible that there's a blockage in the system.

The easiest way to check for and remove any blockages is to follow the steps shown in our online support guide:

    http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=1148&product=DC25-ALLFLOORS

Although you've already washed the filters, you might want to take a look at the video below to check you've done so correctly. Under normal use, this should be done at least once every 3 months. Use cold water without any detergents, and ensure the filters are totally dry before replacing them - this may take up to 24 hours.

Please note, the cleaner returns HEPA-filtered air back into the room through the exhaust vents in the Ball - so air blowing from the Ball is a normal feature of operation, and nothing to worry about.

By clearing any obstructions, you should be able to resolve your issue without further assistance. However, if you've tried this and are still concerned, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US). One of our experts will be happy to run through some troubleshooting over the phone with you recommend the best course of action.

    Kind regards,

How to clean 2 tier radial cyclones on dyson DC 50

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC50 has two lifetime washable filters, which we recommend washing at least once a month in normal use. Use cold water without detergent and allow at least 24 hours for both filters to dry completely before replacing them in the machine.

The cyclone pack itself doesn't require any maintenance - it should never be washed or submerged as this could cause damage not covered under your Dyson guarantee. However you can remove the clear bin from the cyclone pack, then use a soft brush or dry cloth to remove any fluff or debris from the mesh shroud. The inside of the clear bin can also be wiped with a damp cloth - make sure it's completely dry before reassembling.

To remove the clear bin, press the red bin base release button to open the bin base, as if you were emptying the machine. Then with the bin base still open, press the silver catch on the rear of the cyclone pack to disengage the clear bin.

If you'd like any further guidance on correctly caring for your DC50 without causing damage, you're welcome to get in touch directly. You can call us on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Dyson dc 50 is notsucking intothe canister

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

I can confirm that it's normal for dust and debris inside the clear bin not to spin. There are ribs called 'baffles' at the base of the clear bin, which capture debris and force it to settle.

However if the machine doesn't seem to be picking up as well as it should be, there may be a blockage in the cleaner head, internal hose or airways. This is quick and easy to check for and resolve, just follow the steps shown in our online Support guide: http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc50/dc50-animal/my-machine-is-not-working/machine-not-sucking-picking-up-as-well-as-usualdc50/dc50-clearing-the-brush-bar-video

You may also want to give the two lifetime filters a wash using cold water without detergent. In normal use we recommend washing the filters at least once a month. Allow at least 24 hours for both filters to dry completely before replacing them in the machine.

I'm confident removing any blockages and giving the filters a wash will restore full performance to your DC50. But if you'd like some further help from our experts after giving this a try, please call the Dyson Customer Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

How to open the cyclone part of the DC50 to check it it's clogged?

Hi Floyd, it's Jack at Dyson.

Please do not attempt to dismantle DC50's cyclone pack, as this is likely to cause damage not covered by the machine's 5-year guarantee. It's very unlikely there would be a blockage within the cyclone pack as it's protected by a fine mesh shroud which prevents pet hair and other debris from getting into the cyclones.

If your machine isn't picking up as well as it should be, you may need to give the filters a wash, as shown in the video attached. This should be done at least once a month using cold water without detergent. Always allow at least 24 hours for the filters to dry completely before replacing them.

To check for blockages in any of the airways, please follow the steps shown in our online Support guide:
    http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc50/dc50-animal/my-machine-is-not-working/machine-not-sucking-picking-up-as-well-as-usualdc50/check-the-brushbar2dc50/redirect-to-bin-cyc-duct/check-the-wand-and-hose2dc50

If you do need further help after you've washed the filters and checked for blockages, please get in touch with us so we can help further. You can reach our experts directly by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US). If a repair is needed, we can also confirm if this is covered under our 5-year guarantee.

How do I seperate my dyson DC 24 for cleaning

    Hi there,

To separate the clear bin from the cyclone pack, remove the bin from the machine and open the base as if you were emptying it. You can then separate the clear bin and cyclone pack using the silver catch on the rear of the cyclone pack.

You can wash the clear bin by rinsing it with cold water - always ensure it's totally dry before replacing it.

Dirt can be removed from the cyclone assembly using a soft brush or dusting cloth, but never attempt to wash this part or submerge it in water, as this could damage to the machine.

I hope this information is useful to you - if you'd like any further assistance or advice, please call us free on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).
