Paper jam I used a 4X6 glossy paper to print a picture and the paper jammed in the printer and because of its size there wasn't any part available to pull out. I can't get the printer to do anything now because of the jam. pdesmarteau_75@msn.com Phil Des Marteau 575-373-1488

I did all the last expert said to do, but now the message comes up "inner coer is open" when that is not the case. The alarm light is still on. Now what??

  • pdesmarteau Oct 26, 2008

The back door solution was able to expose an edge of the paper that was the cause of the problem and with a forceps I had used as a veterinarian I was able to get hold of the papaer and remove it. thanks for the help.

First of all turnoff the printer. Then open the front cover and slowly pull the paper out.
Since you are using a 4X6 glossy paper make sure the glossy paper is not very hard. secondly you can first insert a A4 size normal paper and then put the 4x6 glossy paper on top of it. This will help in getting the glossy paper fold when it goes inside the paper feeder and then come out.

Also make sure the roller is cleaned from dirt. Use a soft cloth and some spray to clean it.

Thanks

Unplug the printer from power for ten minutes.

Remove cartridges and put them back, open all doors and close them back.

How to clean rollers so it picks up a 4x6 glossy paper to print, without saying it has a paper jam.

glossy paper is difficult at best. only 1 pickup roller. if you look in the paper tray area you will see it. open the pack you will also see it.

Book says mild soap and water. try some Alcohol and a swab.

When I use my Brother MFC-465 CN printer to print 4X6 photos with the photo paper bypass tray in proper position, it jams sending the photo paper through. Printer is set to 4x6; software set to photo as...

Hi there!
The compatibility of the paper may affect the issue that you are having. I have a brother printer also and prints on 4x6 size what i can suggest is to try turn the photo paper upside down, so facing the tray, 2 sheets at the bottom should have the glossy side up. and the sheet where you need to print the photo should be facing down. So when the paper roller grabbed the photo paper at the top it will smoothly pass thru,
Hope this helps! Vikroks

How can you keep the printer from jamming up paper with every print everytime I go to print a paper the paper jams in the printer, I checked for jammed paper but dont know how to reset it

reset printer

check if there is any paper (small bits) stuck in the printer which could be blocking the sensor or the rollers

also check if the paper is not damp?

realign printer heads using the software if it offers the function?

My 4x6 prints are not centered on paper

That printer can't print borderless on 4x6 photo paper, you should use A4 size paper, print and cut the pictures.

Printing 4x6 photos on photo paper

Sorry but your question seems to be unclear.
Here are the solutions that I see:
- try fixing the orientation of your paper on the printer:
-- go to printer "properties" then select "paper" then set it to
landscape or portrait. You might just have to cut the extra
papers
- try changing the paper size on the printer "properties" if it has
no 4x6 then choose "custom size"
