Question about HP Pavilion dv6000z Notebook
I use a camera with a Sony Memory stick Pro Duo and up until recently I have had no problems viewing and importing photos from the stick/adaptor onto my laptop.
Now I cannot even view my pictures from the memory stick, let alone import them to the computer. When I try to view them (in both Picasa or Windows Photo gallery for example), I can view only part of the first photo or sometimes the first few photos, along with thumbnails where all the other photos should be. When I click on the thumbnails, I get the message "Photo Gallery can't open this photo or video. This file format is not supported, or you don't have the latest updates to Photo Gallery.
What I tried:
I checked for updates. I have the latest ones.
I went into My Computer-->Hardware and Sound---> Device Manager---> Disk Drives---> Ricoh Memory Stick Disk Device......It says the device is working properly... Tried to update the driver software and I already have the latest updates.
Should I try uninstalling Ricoh drivers and reinstalling them?
My first thought was that the memory stick was damaged, so I tried it on my other PC (has XP on it, not Vista like my HP Pavilion) . I could import the pictures just fine.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Hey i have the same problem with the hp pavillion 6000. It is one of the most unreliable computers in the world but i guess thats another discussion... I have a 2g memory card that will only be recognized if i restart the computer and put it in then... Once you eject it though it wont recognize it. HP needs to get their **** together and stop ripping people off.
