Pls Service the LCD Panels of the Projector, Also check the Fly-Eye lens, just next to Lamp unit. This will solve your problem. if it's not then the only solution is Replacement of LCD Panels, But Must check or replace the external RGB Cable first befor doing all this exercise.

Sounds like one of those problems only cureable with expert knowledge of for example Chroma feed , Lcd function , lamp luminence, not to be a killjoy but it sounds like this is one for the engineers an estimate should be free and even if you dont have it fixed you'll know whats wrong if you want to do it yourself providing you have adequate training of course .... I had this same problem with 2 NEC VT595 projectors. My problem was that there was a broken "tab" on the lamp cover (the plastic cover that slides in place over the lamp) that is supposed to depress a switch which insures the lamp cover is in place before operating the projector. The tab was broken in half and not making the connection there for causing the blinking status light (.5 sec on, 2.5 sec off) indicating a lamp housing or cover error.
