Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have been trying to use the option of placing a picture (or a different colour) as a background to e-mails sent from "Outlook Express" via "Format" - "Background" - "Picture" (or "Colour" "Sound") The problem is, colour changes or background pictures do not show on my system. If I "send" an e-mail to myself having tryed to alter the background with a picture it arrives with the picture as an attachment rather than set as a background.

    Wishtech, Thanks for trying but I already appear to be set on HTML. It is already on HTML on the created e-mail but not so when looked at through the drop down menu from "View" at the top of the "In box" I cannot seem to highlight it in this box.

How to download outlook express to send mails

You can't really download Outlook Express as it is part of Windows XP.
If it is not there, you can add it though the Add/Remove Programs option in the Control Panel. Select the Windows Components icon in the left-hand pane.

In Vista Outlook Express is replaced by Windows Mail, and in Windows 7 there is no email program, but you can download Windows Live Mail.

Free, Outlook Express sending solution?

Outlook Express, as well as other LOCAL CLIENTS may by blocked by your ISP. Spam is the issue, and to combat, most ISPs require mail to be sent through THEIR server. So, contact your ISP and ask them what the outgoing mail server should be and update your Outlook to that server.

Outlook express

0x800CCC78 SMTP_REJECTED_SENDER Unknown sender. This is caused by having the incorrect e-mail address in the Reply-To field.

You may have to authenticate in outlook express by putting in the SMTP server name of your internet provider instead of yahoo
for example
Incoming = smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing = smtp.yourISPservername
Some isp's will not let you send out with a different smtp server than theirs.
It's why you can receive but not send.

Can't delete anything from Outlook Express

try to highlight the email you want to delete and press shift+delete this will permanently delete the email.

If this solution works that means your trash folder is already corrupted.

You might want to use different email client like Eudora, MS Office Outlook, Thunderbird.

Are you sure that the text color in the email matches the background? You should also check the options for the email browser you are using. I hope this helps your computer problem.
