The model which I have has a built-in file that downloads to your PC that installs a program for converting your .voc files into either WAV or EXE. The program can be copied and shared as there is no registration, however it would appear designed to work specifically with this particular device.

PS - You may want to connect to your PC and then explore the files on the 5120-a device for this program. Anyone needing a copy can email me at sincityq(at)gmail(dot)com.

How can I download my content to garage band on a G4 to edit it?

I use the http://media-convert.com/convert/ website to convert the .voc file to a more user friendly .mp3 file and then use my favorite cd burning program to burn and audio cd that will play in any cd player anywhere.

Hi,
You should connect your recorded into a PC, via USB, and transfer the recorded media into one of your drives or folder in your PC. Next is you "burn" or copy the media file from your PC into a blank CD or recordable CD. Some need application to write on a CD but for Vista OS, you just need to select from the toolbar the "burn" option.
Note: Your CD drive must be capable of writing into CDs.

Manual for RCA Voice recorder RP5120

The manual for the RP5120 is available from RCA Audio Video. See the Support/Manuals tab here: http://rcaaudiovideo.com/audio/voicerecorders/?sku=RP5120 . The direct link to the user manual is: http://audiovox2.info/docs/common/RP5120/RP5120_OM.pdf .

I hope this helps.

My recorder is locked and I can't locate the manual to unlock it! RCA RP5120-A

Hi,

The manual says this about it;

Keys lock
To avoid accidental key activation, slide the key lock selector toward the lock icon to lock the keys.

Reverse the step to unlock them.

I have included the link to download your manual for free for your convenience
http://www.voxxsupport.com/images/manuals/RP5120/media/RP5120_UMEN.pdf

Please do take a moment to vote on the answer as to whether it helped.

Many thanks.

Need to know how to Manually reset RP5120-A

Plug in your recorder using the USB cable. Copy any of the files you see to your PC. Then reformat the drive. I don't have the exact details for doing this under windows but I fixed the problem this way.

RCA's RP5120 Digital Recorder has VOC format, can't share or copy to CD

Version 4.04 of the software has a utility to convert to .VOC files to .WAV or even .EXE. (Are there really folks who would prefer to receive an .EXE file in email?)

I've read in several reviews that you can save .VOC files as .MP3 files using the provided software, but either this feature is no longer available, or the reviewers were mistaken.

You can convert .WAV files to .MP3 files simply. You may find one such converter for free on C|NET at:
http://www.download.com/WAV-to-MP3-Encoder/3000-2140_4-10060500.html

A 5 minute google search (wav to mp3 freeware) revealed 3 absolutely free utilities which will do this. I, too, wish mp3 support was native with this product, but I can live with using these utilities.
