HP PAVILION INVENT 6000 model T639.fr - This desktop seems to have a faulty USB - It only partly recognises USB devices whereas other devices simply do not work - Those same devices work perfectly on other computers - how do I troubleshoot USB hardware and then also USB driver software for this PC - It is windows XP home version

U have install win xp sp2 update download from here.
also tryo to uninstall usb driver then reinstall it again.

go to device manager and from there try updating the usb drive from there

All usb ports on my HP Pavilion dv5000 do not recognise any device attached to them. Hoevevr when thr same devices in pugged into another computer they work perfectly.


Unistalled the USB Generic Root Hub Drivers from the Device Manager by right clicking on the generic root hubs and then restart the notebook and This will fix this issue for you....:)

Blue Screen problem


is your keyboard usb? If so it may be that your keyboard is not recognised until windows boots, in which case plug in an old ps/2 type keyboard and see if you can change the options then

unfortunately it's a sure sign your drive is faulty, the noises are the laser trying to read the tracks, cd's can be easier read than dvd's because the tracks are wider apart, whereas dvd's data is packed tighter together and the reading is more difficult for a faulty laser, you will need to replace it or buy an external usb writer.

Hi there'
if you would please try this power down the computer and reboot and press the del key as it starts up this should bring you into the bios screen now go down and ensure that the plug and play is enabled now go to the perephial section and look for the usb and make sue that it is enabled save and exit and reboot once you reboot see if the computer recognises the usb devices you are installing best regards mike

i think your usb to ps2 connector is faulty.
