if the power light is flashing then the modem is on battery backup and internet is disabled. plug the power cord into the modem or find a working power outlet, you should be set after that.

Power light flashing=bad

We have just gotten a Google Wifi. How do I disconnect my Arris network?

- Your Arris cable modem/router should be setup in bridge mode from the Arris admin screen.
- Your Arris cable modem should have wifi turned off otherwise you'll have 4 wifi networks in your home.
- Your google wifi plugs into (via cable) the back of your Arris using one of the 4 LAN jacks. The google uses the incoming signal from the Arris to create your wifi signal.
- Install the google wifi app on your phone.
- Place your google devices around your home.
- Connect to your first google device and get it connected to your Arris, setup the wifi (SSID) name and password.
- Then connect your devices to the new network name.
Good luck! Here is a link with video of the instructions - https://support.google.com/wifi/answer/7183148?hl=en

Sb4200 modem standby problem

This isn't much help, but be aware that this is an old modem, so no surprise that Arris cannot help with it. The process you describe sounds like what I just went through with a BRAND NEW Arris DG860A modem. The modem is going through the boot-up process normally when it cycles through "power, receive, online, send". Mine did the same thing. But without more info, I don't know if the rest will apply to your modem. In the case of the DG860A, which was owned by me, Comcast technicians both online and in-person could not get it to authorize on the Comcast network. Even though Comcast replaced my DG860 with their DG860, it is believed that my model did not have the Comcast generated code needed for authorization, and for some reason would not accept it.
So in short, if this is a new modem installation of an older modem, it may be lacking a piece of code necessary for the network to authorize it.

I have an Arris modem from Comcast that gives me phone and internet service. Prior to going to Comcast for telephony I used a regular, off the shelf, modem and I could connect to my Direct TV sat box via...

comcast use 10.0.0.1 for ip address, I think
check direct tv box for internet settings for it's ip address should 10.0.0.2 maybe call directv maybe they could further.

I have a arris tm602 modem, HOW DO I CONFIGURE MY NET GEAR ROUTER FOR INTERNET CONNECTION

Cable modems bond to what they are plugged into, so you have the modem plugged into a computer and it is working fine. Then you want to unplug the ethernet cable from the computer and plug it into another device such as a netgear router. Then you find no matter what you do it will not work.

Now normally to break this bond to the computer so that it will bond with the router you would simply unplug the electrical power from the cable modem, wait for it to sync back up with your ISP's CMTS, power up your router which you would have connected via the internet or wan port, and you would be up and running.

You may have even did this with your Arris TM602. Why isn't your router pulling an IP address? The reason is simple, pulling the power cord did not really remove power since the modem has battery back up.

In order to make it release its bond to your computer, so it can bond with the router you need to either push the reset button on the back of the modem while still powered up or remove its battery pack while unplugged from power.

So try again, this time push reset on the modem. This question was posted in January so I am sure buttercup is all fine by now but maybe this will help someone else.

Plugged in an ARRIS Modem to a Linksys switch and can only get 1 computer to obtain a valid IP Address. Have reset the modem several times with no success.

You need a router not a switch. The router acts as a switchboard and connects the computers to the modem. A switch essentially connects point to point.

No driver for my modem

There are no drivers for the arris cable modem unless you are using USB.

If you are using ethernet then it is simply plug and play. You may need to press the reset button on your arris.

Thank you.

Connecting my arris modem to x-box live

I have an Arris cable modem and use Xbox live. They work very well together. Most ISP's will only allow one active device at a time. When you switch between you cable modem and your Xbox you need to use a pen and press the reset button on the arris every single time you switch.

Re-starting a ARRIS modem after a loss of power

You can try doing a "Hard reset" on the modem but it looks like you've tried most combinations. To do the hard reset: - unplug the coax cable from the back of the modem - Push and hold the "reset" button in for 15 seconds - Allow the modem 30 seconds to reinitialize and then plug the coax cable back in. Within 10minutes you should have activity back. If not, the modem needs to be replaced. I know you may have tried something similar to this but I'm hoping this may help.
