My 7060 oven won't light. The electric igniter comes on but no gas.

an you hear the oven gas igniters firing? If not maybe there is no power to the oven. Not sure of your oven, but does it have an electric fan and if so, does it work? This should prove that there is power to the oven
What is the model number of your gas stove (oven/cooktop)?
Does your oven light work? If not does your oven have a separate power cord, i.e are there two power cords one for the cooktop and one for the oven?If so have you checked that the power outlet for the oven cord is working?

Broken oven

The problem is usually the igniter not reaching the correct amp draw .When the igniter does not reach the correct amp draw it may allow the gas valve to partially open or not open at all. The igniters are inexpensive and easy to replace. There is a video at this will walk you thru the correct procedure for performing this test. It may be a different model but the testing will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model. Not all models are available. All parts come with installation instructions.

My Maytag oven (mgs5870adw) isn't getting as hot as it should. The boiler works and all of the burners work. I haven't confirmed my problem other than noticing that things don't cook evenly and/or take way...

mlong9876 - I am having the same problem as you posted re: Maytag (mgs5870adw). I am trying to arrive at the same resolution changing the lower igniter in my same model oven. Were you able to remove the lower oven plate to access the top of the burner and igniter with the convection bake fan housing in the back? I am having difficulty getting to the igniter.

Gas oven will not ignite

It sounds like somebody bypassed the flame sensor on the oven, no oven should ever release gas for more than a couple seconds if there is no ignition. This oven is very dangerous and should not be used until it is looked at by a professional.

Most modern gas ovens and many broilers use a "glow-bar" style of igniter that glows red-hot to ignite the gas. If the igniter doesn't reach the proper temperature, the gas valve won't open. You may need to replace the igniter.
