Battery goes dead in about 4 days in 1996 buick park ave

most obvious cause could be the alternator ,one of the diodes has gone draining the battery or the battery itself its difficult to know without checking it out .Try disconnecting the battery and if it still goes flat then you know its a faulty cell in the battery .if it doesnt then try disconnecting the big thick cable on the alternator and see if that stops it

I have a crazy case of parasitic drain. When driving, power drops, going reverse is even worse. When parked, the battery is drainned beyond recharging, the car has killed 3 optima batteries.

Normally what you do is to take off one battery terminal cable, and them put a test light across the gap between the cable end and battery post it was removed from.
Then you pull fuses and relays one at a time until the light goes out.
It could also be the alternator itself, so try disconnecting that.
A major short within the fuse box is also possible.
Accident damage areas are places to look for damaged insulation.
Do not start the vehicle, because a heavy short like that will quickly destroy the alternator.

Audi A4-how do i know if my alternator is bad or

START engine and turn on head lights to main beam if engine stops and battery is flat then the Alternator isent putting out 13.5 volts or 12volts so then turn off lights and turn on inn and with a test light check power lead on Alternator if you have power to alt then you have either Reg or brush problem .
Take it off and get it tested and if slightly faulty then get a change over one and refit start and recheck your head lights as they should come bright when engine runs evan at idle .
ITS that easy

Draw on battery when car on

First disconnect the battery overnight just to make sure the battery is not self discharging......if it's dead or down in charge while disconnected....time for a new one.
Now.....if the battery is good....disconnect one battery cable and place a 12 volt test light between the cable and the battery post the cable had just been attached to. A bright light means a drain in the car.
Your job is to remove one fuse at a time until the light dims.
A dim light is OK...clock memory etc.
Remember....a open car door is a drain......the dome keep them closed while pulling fuses.
Also....if the fuses don't show a drain......disconnect ALL wires from the alternator....there could be a drain there.
Just keep disconnecting one thing at a time until the light goes out or dims.

Unplug the ECM connection and see if those lights go off.For some reason the relays are not turning off and are controlled via the ECM.

Alternator has high voltage and not chargeing battery

Look if You start the car and wile car running idling, disconnect the positive terminal on the battery and the engine stops, You need a New Alternator, look on the fuse box on the engine compartment for a fuse or a Relay with the alternator name, the main fuse is bolted to the fuse box, but I doubt is a fuse
