Low Water Pressure in Kitchen Faucet

About two weeks ago, I noticed a decrease in the water pressure coming out of my kitchen sink faucet: about 50%. Since then the pressure has not decreased any more but is still WAY TOO LOW.

Please help...THANK YOU

I have the same problem but is not the aerator or the diverter. I have put in a new cartridge. Hoses are fine and there is plenty of pressure to the faucet. The water pressure starts a little low but after a few seconds it starts slowing down

I have the same problem. It is not the aerator screen. Pressure is good. It's a mystery.

I have same problem, but when I take off the screen the pressure still is low. Doesn't seem to be the screen at the end of the faucet.

Grohe Ladylux - extremely low water pressure.  It's only 3 weeks old.  pressure to the faucet is great, but when it reaches the spout/spray nozzle, forget it.  Barely a trickle.

I have the same problem. Low water pressure on cold only. Plenty of pressure at the supply valve. I also removed the cartridge, but everything looked clean. And no, it's not a clogged screen, which would affect both hot and cold. Help!

Ladylux pro with low water pressure one day after installation. Now we know it is not clogged because plumber checked everything...it is a mystery, can anyone help??

After replacing the cartridge just a few months ago, the water has dwindled to a very slow flow. The sprayer is not much better. I suppose I could try cleaning the screen, or put in another cartridge, but I may just replace the whole system. It's pretty, but worthless!

Ihad the same problem. It is not the screen. What you need to do is get a spray diverter the old one disintergated and is blocking the flow. You have to take the collar off and underneath is the diverter. This is after you take the ball and rings out.

Had the same problem! And, yes, I too found that it was the diverter. To reach the water shutoff valves, I used this tool: http://prismreachingwatersupplyvalves.bl...

The filter screen in the faucet is probably clogged, Use pliers covered in a pair of dishwashing gloves ( so your won't scratch your faucet) and remove the tip of the faucet where the water come out. Clean the screen and you should be back to 100%. If it's because of mineral build up, you will have to soak the piece in lime-away.

American Standard Kitchen Faucet Low water flow

I had the same issue with an American Standard faucet that I installed new 6 months ago. The diverter can be the issue if you have a sprayer attachment. Try unscrewing the sprayer head from the hose it's attached to. Now run the water full pressure with the hose pointed into the sink, obviously :~). After running the water for about 1 minute, connect the sprayer head back onto the hose, make certain the flat rubber washer and ring gaskets are seated in their grooves properly, and tighten until you have no water leaking from the sprayer head/hose connection. Now try the water through the faucet. If the problem was a temporary diverter issue, your pressure should be fine now. Good luck

My kitchen faucet has low water pressure both hot & cold. My faucet is a Bixby 538. I removed the spray head and the pressure is still very low. The pressure is good up to the shut off valves under...

If you have pressure to the shut off valves then most likely your shut off valves are not fully opening, I would recommend you replace both valves, they build up water deposits in them a lot of the times. The other possibility is the faucet itself has a water saver filter built into it. A lot of the new faucets have water savers built into them now.

Low water pressure

Remove the spray head and point the hose into the sink drain. Turn the faucet on. If you have good pressure, cal American Standard for a free replacement spray head.
If you still have low water pressure without the spray head, ask them for a new faucet cartridge.
After replacing the faucet cartridge, if you still have low water pressure you will need to ask for a new faucet, possibly free if yours is still under warranty.

Hi just moved in new home love it but the water pressure in kitchen is very low but the two baths i have the water pressure is fine can you help me please

One thing you could try is to remove the aerator at the end of the spout on the faucet, Turn water on and see if pressure is any better. If so the aerator is got something in it restricting the flow.
You also can remove the dime shaped flat in the aerator to increase water flow. It looks like a dime with a hole about 1/8" in center to restrict the flow to about 1.6 gpm. Remove it and reinstall aerator and check water flow

Most of the times when cold and hot side of faucet. It would be the first thin to check being you have good water pressure at other faucets. They catch debris and the flow slows down from the faucet's. Check out supply lines and faucet for a blockage if this doesn't take care of the problem.

Check out this web sire for a parts breakdown of parts in faucet. Check out installation and rough in sheet for information on faucet below.

Water volume has been getting very slow

Could be a blockage in the valves and check any filters any where in line.some sinks in kitchen have a filter under sink and check valve to make sure they are opened all the way.

The hot water side has low water pressure. The

start by making sure the valve that supplies hot water to the sink and dish washer is fully open. If there is low hot water pressure in any of the other kitchen/bathrooms, then trace the line to see where the pressure drops. If it is only in the kitchen, it should be an old valve, (causes restriction)Good Luck.

Check the screen at the hose connection under the sink. Check the hoses for any large debris in them. Verify that the water pressure coming from the water outlets under the sink is good. There is obviously a restriction somewhere...you just need to locate it.

Water pressure in kitchen faucet decreased...no change in pressure elsewhere.

ON the end of the faucet you will most likely find a screw on fitting on the very end. This contains a screen or aerator. This can become clogged up with hard water deposits or dirt and debris that has gotten into the water. Remove the end and clean out the wire screen and place it back on the faucet.

Loss of pressure in kitchen faucet - Price Pfister

Your problem is a simple one.

  1. Turn off water to faucet.
  2. Place a towel(s) in the base of the sink(s) to prevent any parts from going down drain.
  3. Remove the handle to the faucet. (single handle only)
  4. If not a single handle then remove spout from faucet.
  5. If a single handle remove cap carefully and any loose parts.
  6. Gently turn spout side to side while lifting to remove.
  7. You will see a hole with a very small valve where the water comes out to the spout on the base of the faucet.

  1. Remove this valve (which is a backflow preventer) and replace.
  2. Reassemble and test.
Problem solved.
