Unable to capture video to my pc or laptop

Hi,
i have connected my video (yellow) left/right audio(red/white) leads to a scart adapter and plugged this into my line1 scart on the vcr, the other end of the cable is fitted to the cameramate and the usb lead plugged to my laptop/pc.
All drivers where loaded on correctly and all equipment appears to be working correctly ie. leads tested, cameramate is detected when pluged to the pc/laptop. the device shows up on the config page aswell so im guessing its working ok .
i have used the software that came with it and the moviemaker 2 software from microsoft but i still always get the same message
UNABLE TO CAPTURE VIDEO
can anyone help, ive tried evrything. the only thing i can think of is that there is no out put from line 1 scart but then again ive tried line 2 scart just the same -line 1 shoule have the output. could it be the scart to yellow red white adapter ???
ran it through the tv taking the output from scart 2 as my tv manual says, still the same........HELP. cheers Glen.

Try tech support.  I have the driver for an earlier version of the Cameramate which I can email you, but I'm not sure if it works with your USB version. Here's what they told me: From: "Techhelp4" <techhelp4@ziosupport.com> Date: June 15, 2006 5:16:45 PM EDT To: <cmyers1809@earthlink.net> Subject: CameraMate Drivers and Software Link
Hello Clay,   1) Please download and install the attached drivers for the device you have.   2) Double click on the attached file and extract it to a folder on your computer. It is important that you
know where you are extracting the files to so that you can access them later.

3) Now connect the device to the computer.   4) Right click on My Computer and then go to properties.   5) Go to the device manager tab, if you are running Windows 2000 or XP then click on the hardware tab and then choose device manager.   6) Here you will find the Cameramate video device with a yellow ! or ? next to it, the device will appear as a odd symbol such as a "b" with a pi symbol next to it.   7) Double click on that device and go to the driver tab.   8) Click on the update driver button. This will open the hardware update wizard.   9) Make sure you select "no, not at this time" when the wizard asks if you want to 'connect to the internet to search for software'.

10) Click Next. Now, choose 'install from a list or specific location'.   11) Click Next. Check 'search for the best drivers in these locations.   12) Uncheck 'search removable media'. Check 'include this location in the search'.   13) Now, browse to the folder to where you extracted the files to. Click next, and proceed with the installation.

14) To confirm just open device manager again and see if there are any more devices with yellow ! or? next to them. If there are then repeat the above process.     Part 2   We have recently released and posted the latest version of the software on our website. You may download the latest version  by clicking on the link below.  IF YOU CHOOSE TO UPDATE YOUR SOFTWARE, DO NOT USE THE CD THAT CAME WITH YOUR PRODUCT.  IT WILL NO LONGER WORK. Thank you.  Either cut and paste to your browser or click on the link.

Camcorder to vcr a/v hook up and record

All you need is an connecting lead that comes out of the camcorder and that terminates in three phono plugs. One yellow (video) one red (right audio) and one white (left audio). As you can see from the stock picture on your post the VCR front has the corresponding coloured sockets. So you plug them into that. Sometimes these sockets are hidden on a cover. If your VCR hasn't got them, you can use a scart socket located on the back. You get a scart plug with the same connections. If it has male plugs you will need to get 3 female in-line connectors to connect your leads.

Once connected using the VCR menu or the channel selector, select the AV socket you have connected the camcorder too. Start it playing and you see the picture. Providing you have a tape in the VCR pressing record will capture the picture from the camcorder.

Connecting Alba DVD to Toshiba TV

If the TV has the red, white and yellow sockets on it you can use an adapter. It's a scart plug on one end (for the DVD player) and 3 little round sockets on the other, usually red, white and yellow, sometimes red, black and yellow, like this:Amazon.
Then you need an audio/video lead with red, white and yellow plugs on both ends like this:Amazon

Or one of these:Amazon

You could also use a multi socket scart adapter to add more scarts to your TV:Amazon

I have been given an Argos DVD Player. I have the lead with the red white and yellow plugs at both ends. No Manual, how to I attach it to TV. Do I use a Scart lead ? Thank you.

If your TV has what is called RCA jacks that is what red, white, and yellow color code is for. Red and white for audio, and yellow for video. If your TV does not have right and left audio in (red and white) There are adapters available at electronics store but not worth the price considering what a DVD player goes for these days.

Scart leads don,t go in to back of tv

The Samsung HDTV you refer to is a North American model and is not designed to accept Scart (European) connectors. However, you may be able to connect your component by using a Scart to RCA adapter. This will allow a Scart component to connect to the HDTV if you get the proper adapter with yellow video and white and red audio RCA connectors which will indeed plug into the HDTV. Look around on the web for cables and adapters like the example here:
http://www.svideo.com/scart.html
It would look something like this:

No sound with wii

if you do not have the red/white socket on the rear of the tv(audio in) then you could use a scart adapter. it will have the 3 connections on the rear of a scart head. most flat panel tvs have the 3 connections on the side or the front under a flap.

How to connect to an analog tv

Try to locate the composite video/audio in(1) and audio (2) out sockets of your tv.
(1): three small round sockets, one yellow, one white, one red (2): two small round sockets, red and white. (only if you want sound from your tv on your marantz receiver)
You will need a composite audio/video cable: 51433a4.jpg
and a composite audio cable: db5db51.jpg

Connect the composite video/audio cable (1):
the yellow lead to MULTI OUT (yellow) the white lead to MULTI OUT (white) the red lead to MULTI OUT (red)
on your tv: connect these cables to the respective yellow, red and white input. (there should be a text like: game in/dvd in/ext in/AV-1/VCR) If all you see at the back is a big socket like this one: 0f41fcb.jpg

you will need a SCART-to-composite adapter, like this:
9e08d41.gif

(2) To get audio from your tv to your Marantz, locate an 'audio out' (red + white round connectors) on your tv, and connect these pins using cable (2) to TV (complete bottom left on your Marantz).

I have just inherited a panasonic VCR and some old family movies that i want to watch on my samsung lcd tv. I do not have a scart lead but have the wires white red yellow on both ends, how can i connect...

I assume you mean the white, red and yellow wires have phono plugs on them? Or phono sockets, whatever - the yellow is video, the white is left audio and the red is right audio.
You can get a scart plug with these sockets on the back so you can plug them into it. You can also get a scart plug with the 3 cables coming out it with phono plugs on the end.
You should be able to get them from Amazon etc.

VHS to Easy capture to computer

The plugs you speak of are called RCA plugs, (Male side has an outside ring with "slots" around the edge, and a pin in the center. Female side has a short round "riser" with a hole in it). You need just standard Audio/Video hookup cables, available at any electronics store.. Walmart/Target/Kmart has them in the TV section. They get plugged into the Audio (Red & White) OUT of the VCR, into the Audio IN (Red & White) of the Easy Capture. The Yellow lead is for Video In/Out between the VCR and Easy Capture. The black is probably the S-Video connector, (round, has very small square hole, surronded by 4, 5, or 7 tiny pin holes) that can be also used to connect video/audio between VCR(if so equipped) and Easy Capture. Get a set of audio/video dubbing cables (abt $10 usually), connect Red to Red, White to White, Yellow to Yellow. Plug the Easy Capture USB cable into your computer (most likely), start the capture program. Start your vcr, hit Play. You should see your vcr tape playing on the computer screen.
