My Canon EOS 450D wont display the: Green square mode, P, TV, AV, M, A-DEP or the Portrait modes when I turn the dial. How do I fix this?

It use to work fine on these modes but now when I turn the dial it's fine until I get to portrait mode and beyond. Portarait is now landscape, The Green square is nowclose up, P is nowsports, TV is nowNight portrait, AV is nowFlash off, M is now blank and A-DEP is now P. I don't know what happened for it to go like this as it was working fine one morning, then when I used it the same afternoon it just went like this. I've removed the battery for 2 weeks and when I put it back in yesterday it was still the same. Please help.

Reble xt flash will not pop up why?

It depends on what setting your main top dial is set on? The flash will not pop up if you have your main dial set on P, Tv, Av, M, A-DEP . If you are using one of these setting you have to manually turn on the flash by pressing the small button on the side of the lens with a Flash icon next to it.
The only time the flash will automatically pop out is if you are using AUTO, Portrait, Close Up...etc. these icons would be underneath the Auto setting which are called Scene Mode, hope this helps ?

On a Canon 450 D. Camera takes images in Basic zone (full auto, portrait, macro, night scene & no flash) but when moved into creative zone (p,Tv, Av, M, A-Dep) the shutter remains open for 30+seconds...

Hi, It sounds like the 'mirror up' option is selected since the mirror will stay up for 30 seconds then close and it wouldn't be active on any of the basic settings. You'll want to go into your settings menu and disable mirror lockup. If you need anymore help just let me know =)

How do i turn the auto ISO off?

In the Basic Zone modes, you don't. The camera automatically sets the ISO in the range 100-800.

In the Creative Zone modes (P, Tv, Av, M, and A-DEP), press the ISO/Flash Exposure Compensation button (rightmost button in front of the top LCD panel). This will display the current setting on the top panel. While looking at the top panel or in the viewfinder, turn the command main dial (just behind the shutter release button) to change it.

ISO stays on Auto. I push the ISO button to change the ISO off of Auto and it doesn't do anything on my 40D

The ISO is set to Auto and can't be changed when shooting in Basic Modes (all of the icons and the green circle). ISO can only be adjusted in Creative Modes (P, Av, Tv, A-DEP, M). If you want to adjust the ISO in Creative Mode, press the ISO button and then turn the dial next to the shutter trigger.

There is a 20 second delay when I take pictures. Must have hit a button but can't find it in the manual. How do I fix it to take pictures immediately?

Couple of things to try - put it on full auto (green square on the dial) first. If it is still taking 20 seconds then there is something wrong unless you have set the self timer - is the camera beeping before it takes the shot? If this is the case, simply press the button under the AV button to switch between single shot, multi shot and timer.

If not timer, and it works in full auto, respond here and let me know what mode you are using (Av, Tv, M, P, A-Dep) and I'll suggest something else.

I have a Canon Rebel XT/EOS 350D. For some reason when I try to view the AF, ISO or WB menus they are not displaying. Can you help?

You need to set your Mode Dial to one of the modes in the creative zone (i.e. one of the modes: P, Tv, Av, M or A-DEP) in order to access the AF, ISO and WB menus. Those menus are not displayed when the Mode Dial is set to one of the Basic Zone modes.
Hope this helps /Chris

Setting RAW as file format

Make sure that the mode dial is not set to one of the 'Basic Zones', i.e. Auto, Portrait, Landscape, etc. You should be able to select RAW or RAW+L in P, Tv, Av, M, or A-DEP.

Canon 20D strong blue cast to pictures

You probably have the White Balance set to a setting other a
than "Auto White Balance" (AWB). On the top of the camera, above the exterior LCD panel, there is the "AF-WB" button. Turn the camera on--past "on" to the bent line. Press the AF-WB button once. On the left side of the exterior LCD panel there is a vertical, reticular box with the symbol of the selected setting for WB. Normally, the setting should be set to AWB. If it is not, turn the command dial at the back of the camera until "AWB" is showing. Try shooting again-the color should be better.

In the "auto" modes (green box, portrait, landscape, etc) the AWB is automatically set. In the "advanced" modes (P,Tv, etc) the WB is manually set for whatever light source you are using. The command dial may have been accidently turned to different setting. Hope this helps.
