Question about KitchenAid KAWS850L Top Load Washer

1 Answer

Washing machine auto soak then over flow

Last week my washer started its own soak cycle without it being selected. It would finally finish the wash but it took longer than the dryer to finish a load.
Now it over flows the wash basket and floods my garage. I guess the water level switch is bad or stuck. I would like to know where it is because i do not want to get another 6 stitches on my hand.

Where is the model number on a Kitchen Aid washing machine about five and half years old? The water doesn't stop flowing when the machine is full and it overflows.

Ok, here's the deal. you could have one of two things wrong with it. either the pressure switch is bad, or the hose that goes to the pressure switch has a hole in it. to check the hose you have to remove the case.

BOSCH WASING MACHINE WONT SPIN OR FINISH CYCLE AND MAKES CLOTHES DIRTY

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors due to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting from the flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor for rinse and wash.

Check this link to replace the inlet valve:

http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/washing-machines/a/7/1408/how-to-replace-the-inlet-valve-on-a-washer-dr.html

Finally after the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come in to rinse and then finally the dry spin with the drain valve/pump activated so as to drain off all the water from the clothes during the spin.

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.

No problem just want to know if one can put clothes soaking in bucket into the machine and go straight to spin to get excess water out without going thru the whole washing process. Cheerz!

Hi - yes theres a few options start it on the final rinse and set your water level to low or auto sense then spin speed (this will add more water to stabilesde the spin cycle)

Could go direct to spin as well but you will need to adjust the clothing proper prior to starting of the cycle..

I am very unhappy with this machine and sorry I bought it! It uses so little water that sometimes when I take the clothes out after it is finished washing I can see dry spots on the clothes that never even...

How about putting the clothes in and pouring water over them with a jug before the washer starts its program ?.

It could also be that the water level switch is out of tolerance and needs replacing

Most machines have a pre-wash cycle as well

Does the wash but stalls before the last spin. help !

I have the same problem and have found (from this and other sites) that it's likely to be something stuck in the filter - check the access door and clear it. If the filter cap is stuck (as mine is) it's likely that there is something against the cap and advice is on this site for getting the blockage away from the cap. Search on "Bosch washing machine"

HI colleen. thanks for the question. i know that you have been doing laundry for 30 yrs. i have been repairing for 45 years. they did not have daugs then. so the problem was not there. yes overloading is the cause . but if it wont go into the spin cycle . that could be the lid switch.

Bosch classixx 1000 washing machine - stops on spin

Washing machine stops at the spin cycle - light flashes. Have to drain water out manually. Happened last week and was then able to run an empty rinse cycle. Machine worked normally for another week. Same problem today but have had to drain water manually from the drum after trying an empty 90 wash and rinse cycle (both stopped on the Spin and flashed). Any ideas? Thanks. x
