The heat-sink copper pipe contains a liquid coolant inside. If this leaks (and it definitely does in some cases) the CPU will rapidly overheat.
To fix the problem you can either purchase a replacement part or cut holes in the case (not an easy task) and add an additional external fan over the CPU.

How do Ifix an overheating problem on a eee 1015pe

The most easy way is to buy a notebook cooler stand. If it's overheating again you must open the case and clean cpu cooler and put some thermoconductor paste on cpu and graphic card.

Asus overheating my gpu

It could be a marginal power supply, gaming puts more requirement, processing power, therefore more power is required by the CPU and the graphics card. And of you are overclocking then it needs even more power and generates more heat.
If you have a dedicated video card installed you should have a 550W power supply.

ASUS P68Z Pro V shuts down

Check the CPU cooling fan. It is running, and if so, running correctly? Check the heat sink for the CPU cooler. They get clogged with dirt and cause overheating. Use canned air and blow out the heat sink to clear it of dirt and debris. DO NOT remove the CPU cooler to clean it. There is special thermal material on the heat sink to properly transfer heat. Removal will damage this and render the fan ineffective unless you have replacement materials available.

You can usually check the CPU temperature in the BIOS to ensure that the cleaning effort has worked.

The problem can be overheating of CPU. Which can be easily diagnosed by download a free software SpeedFan, which will tell your CPU's temperature.
I would recommend you to download the software and post your temperature readings by commenting on my reply.
If the CPU is really overheating, I will provide you with further information on how to solve that.

Cpu high temperature, cpu shutting down

The CPU is shutting down because it is overheating (ie thermal shutdown) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this problem is not fixed, eventually the CPU will fail completely.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely. Also check the power supply fan to see if it spins freely. If the CPU fan has failed, then replace the CPU fan. The CPU fan and heat-sink assembly may be clogged with dust, if so loosen the dust and vacuum to remove the dust.

I HAVE P5RD1-VM ASUS BOARD NOW COMPUTER STARTED PROBLEM

Hi,

several reasons for this.

1:) CPU Overheating.
2:) RAM Overheating.
3:) Motherboard Component Overheating.
4:) FAN not operating correctly.

These are a few things that can shutdown a computer after a few minutes, also viruses/trojans et,c.
can shut off hard-drives. and even instruct the bios to change settings.

Check that the CPU And case fans work correctly.

Motherboard problem

Chances are the CPU fan may be running too slow, dust & dirt build up under & over the fan blades can be a big factor. CPU fan could just be going. Are you over clocking the system. (IF so buy a better heatsink & fan for over clocking the system).
To check if CPU is getting too hot. Enter the bios & go to the title, "Power" page 2-28. Open Hardware monitor & check the CPU temp & mother board temp. (Make sure the case is closed in normal running conditions).
