Monitor works fine on another cp . Just not on mine

I checked the monitor on another Pc and it worked fine. So I guess its an interanl problem. I have a Gateway GM 5084 model with Amd Athlon 64x 2 and an Nvida GE Force 6100 Intergrated graphics card with PCI express slot avaliability. Is it my Video card that is Not working or can it be related to my mother board or processors? Any help is greatly apprieciated. If you read this I thankyou for taking the time to look at it

It could be a resolution problem Try starting in safe mode, by pressing F8 as the computer starts. The right click the desktop and go to personalize or display settings depending which version of windows you have, and change the resolution. If this doesn't work, try restarting again back in safe mode and go to control panel>system>device manager and click on the + sign next to display adapters. Right click properties and click on update driver. If this still doesn't help check that your graphics card is seated correctly into the motherboard and the leads from the monitor to the pc are secure.

How do i use it as a monitor

Many sets are not compatible with TV sets---careful as a wrong connection or a guess can cause issues or damage.

Begin by reading the owner manual for the set carefully first to see what is possible and what is not.

Dell SE198WFPf backlights go off after 2 seconds after power on. You can turn it off, then back on again and get light for 2 more seconds, then back off again. Light stays blue. Not a problem with the PC....

Ok, I have now had 2 different Dell SE198WFP monitors with the same problem (shutting down after a couple of seconds) and I had to read numerous posts on numerous blogs looking for a solution to this "problem" before I actually figured it out. Everything that I'd read suggested bad capacitors on the inverter board (and I'm sure that this is an issue, but it wasn't mine.) After replacing all of the caps on the inverter I still had the same problem.

Long story short, I found (on both of my SE198WFP monitors) that at least one of the four CCFL backlight tubes had a burnt wire on the end of it. Period.

Now I'm not sure if this is a common problem with this monitor or not, but it was in fact the problem with both of mine, and after fixing these wires both monitors now work just fine :-) It seems that all four CCFL's have to pull the same amount of current or the inverter trips the overload and just shuts itself down. I hope this helps!! "And good hunting"

On a Daytek 46 in LCD TV, no AV Digital Cable Signal, but HDMI OK

Had the same problem.
Fixed by unplugging everything from the power source, leaving for 2 minutes then plugging back in.
Works fine now.

Monitor won't work after computer starts up

You need to be sure that your unit is unplugged first before connecting PC. You will see all of your startup settings on your PC. In order to view the desktop on your monitor (does not work on Mac OS) press CTRL+F5. Anoption box will appear and by holding CTRL button and pressing F5 you will see your options change.

Magnavox 15mf605t/17 15'' LCD HDTV won't turn on

Have similar TV. If it is set to the PC source, it goes into standby when there is no signal, like a regular monitor. Even though the monitor is in standby, you can still press the Source button to change to, say, HD input, and will use the familiar on/off action when pressing Power on the remote.

A little weird, but I've gotten very used to it.

Gateway FPD2185W - Picture goes off after logo

Hmmmm.... my board doesn't look anything like yours...
what is the manufacture date of your monitor? Perhaps it's an earlier version?

Here's what the power board looked like inside mine (with the new capacitors installed):

I replaced all my capacitors and it's been working great... BUT it blacked out again this morning.
I cycled the power cord and it came right back on, so I don't know what to do next.
I'm guessing the power regulators, but some of mine had their numbers sanded off.
Probably Gateway's idea to screw you out of fixing it yourself.
