Question about InFocus ScreenPlay 7205 Multimedia Projector

Blue interference in dark/black areas of projected image.

This has just occurred after 4-5 years of minimal use. The screen image is showing scattered blue interference in the picture area that is the darkest-mostly in the black areas. No other problems with the 7205 screen play. The use of the projector is 5% cable tv and 95% DVD movies. The use of the projector is less than 5 hours per week.

Possibly the lamp / bulb is going out. 4-5 years is good under any use.

Vivtek d510 projector has black and white spots covering 1/3 of projected image

The DLP Chip is failing .The DLP or Digital Light Projection Chip contains up to 8 million tiny microscopic mirrors that tilt to project a digital image onto the screen. These mirrors are failing causing light and dark spots to appear.Unfortunately fixing this projector is probably going to cost more than buying a new one. Hope this helps.

Hi there, my dell projector 1800mp is not projecting an image on screen and it only black lines across. what should I do to fix it?.

After turning on the projector, press "+" and "-" buttons on the control panel

simultaneously for 3 seconds and release the buttons when screen goes blank.

2 Press "+" and "-" buttons again to exit the diagnostic mode.

3While in Self-diagnostic mode, the screen will run a seven-color-cycle test as

following:

Red--> Green--> Blue--> White--> Watchet Blue--> Dark Green--> Yellow.

Ensure that the colors of the test pattern are correct. Contact Dell if the colors are
not displayed correctly.

I,ve got a red spot in the screen i replaced the bulp but stil have the problem

it is most likely a burned polarizing filter. There is a polarizing filter on the blue light channel and another on the red channel. When black, or other dark colours are displayed, the red polarizing filter is supposed to block ALL of the red light being projecter. If the filter is burned, some light slips through and creates a red tinge on the projected image. If the red tinge only appears on dark images, but is absent when the images is completely white, a damaged filter is likely the problem.

Seems its hard to buy them. Best bet is probably buying a broken projector from ebay and stealing the filters out of it.

Blue diust specs constellation like!

If you are seeing the "spots" when a black screen is projected, the problem is likely to be scattering caused by dust on the lens. If you can get at both ends of the lens assembly, clean both sides using lens tissue. If the spots are seen at all times, there may be damage to one or more of the LCD panels.

Please update this with your results of the cleaning.

Thanks,
Dan

I have a viewsonic pj500 projector which has functioned perfectly for 5 years. Now the area around the image area either shows a dark blue with dark stripes and the image area has a yellow cast which seems...

LCD projector 101, your blue device is dying inside of projector. Consider purchasing a dlp based product, they do not suffer from color decay.

Really you are blessed , most lcds last about 3-4000 hours or 4 lamp changes. good luck

Optoma HD72 displays white circles when the picture is dark

Have your projector professionally cleaned. It is dust in the inside optics. You should not attempt unless you are very skilled. if you are going to do this yourself have a lot of compressed air on hand.

Dark Area Growing on Right Side of Image

It isnt the lens. There is a crystal asembly that the light is reflected thru after it hits the color wheel. It is 4 pieces of completely mirrored glass glued into a small metal holder. One of those pieces has shifted. To fix it, you can take it out and possibly have a jeweler repair it. It is difficult to take out, but it is doable. Feel free to contact me if you need to. email is (bill @ baerwalde . com) Just remove the spaces.

Yellow area in the projected image

Hello Media Man,

Looks like your projector has done it. Thats acommon trouble to ageing polirising lens, usually the blue. less blue, the green and red make up the yellowish image on the screen. The blue is bombarded with tremendous heat from the lamp and it fade and wash out. If its free, its worth replacing. Get quote for the poliriser; 2 pieces each color.
Good Luck.
