Hello, it sounds like your power supply is gone, there are two things you can do to fix this problem. One is to attempt a component repair on your own, this just means you have to open the unit and look at the power supply. Normally the thing that will go out first on this unit are the capacitors. You might get lucky and find one that is puffy or fat, if you do you will need to get the value of the capacitor and simply put it on google so you can find a replacement. The number two thing you can do is simply send a quick email to parts@wde.com with the request for the power board and they will let you know the price and availability of the board, you will than have to do a simple swap of the boards and your TV will be back up and running in no time. SOURCE: westinghouse model tx-47f430s lcd tv wil not turn on

This is known as SLEEP MODE problem.

Simple solutions:
1. Get a power surge protector / strip.
2. Plug your TV power cord to the power surge.
3.Then turn-on your TV using the remote control. Just in case it won't go all the way to normal state.
4. Turn-off the switch of your power surge like 5 times with an interval of 3-5 seconds.
5. Then repeat step 3 and 4.
6. These step is done to over-ride the sleep mode.

Need to replace fuse in the power supply board. can't get the old fuse out.

The picture relates with your board. Your need to de-solder the heat sink cover to get access to its fuse. Open it carefully and replace the fuse.

good luck

My Westinghouse 47F430S suddenly has no picture, but the sound still works. Does this sound like a light bulb issue? A circuit board issue? Any thoughts on how to fix it?

Hello, this is an inverter board issue which is the board that powers up the backlight. There are two places that will most likely have these two boards (master and slave) available and they are www.shopjimmy.com, and www.invertercentral.com, you can alos send an email to me at westytech@wde.com if you would like to troubleshoot a bit more or just to obtain a bit more information on this model. If this information has been helpful please rate my solution.

There are some bigger electrolitic caps in the power supply that can cause this problem also. Testing with a ESR meter while they are in circiut doesn't always work, they need to be taken out and tested with a cap checker.

My Westy 47 TV has a very strange power-up problem! First, I found that the power supply was bad, I couldn't repair it, so I bought a replacement from ShopJimmy. The replacement seems to be working fine, and sometimes the TV works fine. The little green LED near the bottom edge of the controller board lights up when you connect the AC power, as it should. There is also a small green LED near the upper edge of the controller board that apparently lights only up when the controller is working properly. I've replaced the 470 mFd, 16 V. 'Lytic on the controller board, as everyone says to do. I still observed about 0.8 Vp-p of digital signals on the 5 Volt buss with the replacement capacitor these signals looked kind of like a 300 kHz clock and some other misc. digital stuff, so I added a couple of 0.1 mFd disc ceramics directly across it on the bottom side of the board. That reduced these signals to about 0.4 Vp-p, but the TV still won't turn on. The orange pilot light on the front is lit, but neither the buttons nor the remote will turn it on. The only way I can get the TV to turn on is to do the following: 1. disconnect the two power cables going to the two lamp inverter boards; 2. plug the AC power cable in. The 2nd green LED on the upper portion of the controller board now lights up when AC power is applied. 3. plug in both power cables to the two inverter boards while the power is on. The TV now works fine - all of the lamps light up, good picture, blue LED on the front panel, the remote works, etc. However, if I turn the TV off, and try to turn it back on, the small green LED on the upper controller board goes off, and the set won't come on! I've tried holding the on/off button down for over 10 seconds I read that this might re-boot the controller to no avail. The only way to get it back on is to go thru the 3 above steps again. I've read that there appear to be several versions of the firmware, and I wonder if this might be a firmware problem. If so, how/where can I get the proper firmware to install? Any suggestions? HELP! Please If someone would like to call me, please do at ************. Thanks, Gary W3DTN
