Question about Starbucks Barista Quattro Coffee Maker
While brewing, our coffee maker turns itself off and beeps every few seconds, as if it "thinks" it is finished brewing, when it isn't. We have to stand next to it and keep turning it back on until all of the water has percolated. It's all been said above (although I have the 12-cup Aroma Grande but no category for that model)-- and according to the helpful Starbucks phone support person there is no parts list, and the problem is an internal valve that cannot be replaced. I am more than a little suspicious of an answer like that, but all the unit says is "made in China" so the choices are multiple attempts to use all the water in the tank or buy a new one. Because the only way that the unit can decide it is done is whether there is any water left (hence incoming pressure from the water) I have decided to try multiple de-scaling operations. Really can't hurt, and it's a lot cheaper than replacing a unit that still makes great coffee-- but after several tries!
Every month run white vinegar thru in place of water. Mine does the same thing if I don't. You may need to run the vinegar 2-3 times at first or every time depending on the minerals in your water.
