Re: pouring water

Franny, there are two switches mounted to a module in the ice and water despensor. It sounds like one of the plastic retainers on either the levers or the module itself has broken and the water switch is being made. You will have to remove the outside cover to get at these switches and see what is causing it to remain on. To remove the cover there should be two slots at the bottom that a flat blade screw driver will fit in. Gently pry the cover outward and when it releases, lift up to remove completely. You will now be able to see the module holding the switches. If you think this might be too much of a job, turn the water off behind the refer, shut the ice-maker off by lifting the bailing arm and call a tech. back.

Water will not dispence in ge refrigerator model number gsl25jfpa bs

Your line is frozen. Frozen water dispenser line is a problem with this model. There are number of solutions.

1. Contact GE 800 386-1215, option 5 and ask for WR49X10173 heater kit. There is a video to help you install it. Try to get GE to send you the fix free.
2. Get a hair dryer and heat the dispensing box until the water dispenser works. This is not a permanent solution, though, and it takes 15 to 30 minutes. Hang a long beach towel or blanket over the open freezer to save the cold air.
3. Place a long, clean fishing line or weed wacker line up the water dispenser line. When it freezes, pull carefully to dislodge the frozen water.
4. Buy another brand of refrigerator and let GE know they make inferior products.

Check Temp inside freezer. It has to be down to about 10 or 15 degrees
This can cause slow ice making if its too high even tho its freezing everything else at 25 degrees
See if water is in icemaker.
Pour water in Ice Maker and wait to see if it ejects.
If it ejects theb you need to replace water valve in rear bottom of fridge(Its the part that
attaches to water line out of wall)
If it doesn't eject then it is a faulty Ice Maker.
If its leaking same part needs replaced. The water valve at the bottom rear of fridge.

Filtered water won't work lost prime?

one of three possibilities. Your dispencer button is faulty or the solonoid valve at the back of the fridge is faulty or my guess, the water in the fridge compartment is frozen.( switch off and use a hairdrier for about 10 min. to unfreeze the ice in the plastic resovoir.

Water dispenser does not work

One of the following items is most likely the problem.
The inlet valve. The dispencer switch. the water filter, or the water storage tank.
If the ice will dispence then you can eliminat the dispencer switch. If you have heated the tank in the freshfood section then you can eliminat the tank. You may also have a frozen water line. The most common would be the inlet valve. it is located on the back of the refrigerator. It is the item the water line connects to from the wall. Sid by side ice dsspencer and water dispencer(all the indicator light suddently are shut off) not working

you could have a problem with your dispenser module. a burnt pcb that could lead to all of your problems. switches not working, lights not working, dispenser not working, etc.

check your dispenser module and if you find a burnt part or a burnt PCB, then replace it.

tnx 4 using fixya,

My ice machine is making ice but will not dispence

I had this problem with mine. It turned out that the whole thing had gotten too cold and literally froze up. I poured a little warm water over the whole thing (including the water feed tube) and that solved the problem for me.

Water dispencer not working

check inside the bottom of the refrigerator for water, the water line goes thru the back of the refrigerator and it may have cracked and leaking inside instead of going to the dispenser.
if not then water is most likely frozen in the line going thru the back of the refrigerator. look behind the pans in the refrigerator and there should be a coil of clear plastic water line, this is the reservoir that chills the water for the dispenser. sometimes it will freeze up if the refrigerator is very cold.
