Make sure that the source is set to "Standby" when trying to access the menu. It took me about an hour to figure it out and afterward I felt like a ******.

SOURCE: I bought a car with a KDC BT945U Audio Radio, but

The manul for the KDC-BT945U is available from Kenwood: http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Car_Entertainment/2010_Car_Entertainment/KDC-BT945U . Click on the Manuals tab. The direct link to the English version of the manual is http://manual.kenwood.com/files/4c3ba7ba66e53.pdf .

When Protect is blinking in the display, there is a short circuit in the speaker wire. Make sure that it is correctly installed and that the wire is not touching the chassis. Insulate the wire if needed. Then press the Reset button which is on the front of the main part of the unit (rotate the faceplate down) on the left side. (It's about where the source button is on the faceplate.) See page 70 of the manual for the wiring diagram and page 4 for a picture of the Reset button.

If the Protect message continues, you need to take it in to a service center.

I hope this helps.

Some makers are different.Usually if you hold down the search button long enough,it will switch to autosearch. There should be numbered buttons on the face of the stereo too right?Tune in to the channel you want to preset, press and hold down the number you want it to be.The sound will probably cut out for a couple of seconds, then when it comes back on the channel is preset.Once you set 6 on FM,if you press the band button again,it should give you the capability of presetting 6 more.If it goes to AM just press band once more and it will give you 6 new FM.Usually current radios give 6 AM possible, and 3 separate bands of FM for a total of 18 FM possible.Good luck! I've been trying to figure out how to adjust my sound because ever since I got the KDC MP642U my bass has been nearly non existant. I looked in the manual and it says to go to the sound category to adjust,...

You've probably figured this out by now, but you are supposed to go through the FNC button, click the control knob left, scroll down to SOUND, click and it will show you a menu with Control, Setup, and Preset, etc., and under the Control will list the EQ, bass boost, and highway sound. Under Setup you can adjust the frequency sensitivity under the X-Over option, the type of cabin, location of speakers for central sound, it's all there. Also, on the main display, if you hold the volume knob down for a second, you can adjust the dB level. If still nothing, check if the sub is on. On the main display, hold down on the control knob for two seconds, if will toggle the sub on or off. One thing I'm stumped by however is that I am either getting no subwoofer output, or just any amplifier output at all when trying to use the aux source and the USB source. I had gone through all these settings under each source, i still got nothing. I would assume that this can't not be an option for these sources. I need help.

How do you adjust the bass levels on a Yamaha HTR6130 receiver? I can get the display to show Bass 0db, but what button changes the settings?

When you touch tone button on your front panel repeatedly, you will get two option for setting bass and trebble, when you select Bass immediatly press your updown Sound field Program Button.
Please note:for better sound if your using Small front speaker keep bass to 0db and select the low frequency through sub woofer and program manually LFE from only Sub woofer and addjust CUT off frequency of Subwoofer to 160 and incase if your bass is not clear put it into rev mode.

On my Kenwood kdc-mp339 car cd unit unit I cannot disable the demo feature that scrolls across the led face as it says you can in the manual. Cannot get the option to disable demo , Thanks for any help

Just figured it out - you have to put the player in Standby mode (by pressing SRC till you find it) first.

Then hold down the bass boost button (as the manual says). When MENU pops up, scroll down to DEMO ON and then hold down the centre button of the conrol knob till it changes to DEMO OFF.
