Question about HTC G1

Touch screen doesn't work and the screen itself blacks out sometimes

I called Tmobile several times on this issue that I'm having. They helped me fixed the touch screen part by having me take out the battery and hold the power button down for 21 secs. It works but the problem comes back and now my screen goes blank every now and then. I only had this phone for a day. If this can't be fixed, I still have time to return it. Anyone experience this problem and is it fixable?

I would suggest getting a replacement G1 phone from T-Mobile. HTC Phones are incredibly sturdy and reliable to its very uncommon to have a phone with this problem. if it persists id suggest a replacement !

My phone screen is black

The first thing to try is to pull the battery out and put it back in. If that doesn't work then I would contact your carrier (sounds like AT&T?) and see if the device is still under warranty. The phone number to their warranty department is 1-800-801-1101. With modern cell phones, especially touch screens, this issue is not really possible to fix on the consumer end without just replacing the device. If the warranty thing doesn't work out go in to your local store and see what they can do to help you.

thats because this phone is broken its not your fault tho because i know several people that had the very same phone and had the same problem and along with other problems but its the battery that does't work or it could also be just the phone itself so got in and try toexchange it for a new one.

My tmobile dash keeps going back to the home screen

Hi jamari140,

A few questions to get a better idea of what this might be:

1) Are there any applications that open successfully?
2) Which keys/buttons are you pressing to enter these apps?
3) Have you been experiencing any issues with the keyboard (incorrect key sequences or letters, etc.)?

Please respond to the above and we'll dive a little deeper into what's going on here.
Thanks!
Jonathan

LG viewty Touchscreen problems

I have the same problem. But i had solved it. I use a lighter to burn on my viewty's touch screen, and it is working properly again within 30 secs. And ofcourse, do not burn the touch screen without a screen protector. Hope this solution would help.

My screen is black

I just posted for someone else with the same problem. My suggestion: have the following company fix it for you: http://www.mobile-device-repair.com. They repaired my phone in under a week and it was just $75. The other option is to spend some time finding a screen online, get the tools, and repair it yourself. That solution will be a bit cheaper but also a little more risk.

Hope that helps.

Won't Boot Up, Alternates between Windows screen and TMobile screen

Master repoot the phone. You will loose all data, but you can recover the phone.

1. PRESS AND HOLD BOTH SOFT KEYS.
2. WHILE HOLDING DOWN SOFT KEYS, PRESS AND RELEASE THE POWER BUTTON, WAIT 3-5 SEC. (PHONE SHOULD POWER ITSELF ON BY DOING THIS)
3. RELEASE THE TWO KEYS SOFT KEYS.
4. WHEN SCREEN ON DASH LOOKS LIKE IT'S IN DOS FORMAT, PRESS SEND (GREEN ANSWER KEY)
