I put a 2gb ddr2-667 memory chip in the single (only) memory slot in my gateway nx100x notebook pc. The pc will not boot up with the 2gb memory card. Is there a compatibility problem or do I have a ba

yes, there may be compatibility problem. your 2GB ram may be dead. try your 2gb ram on other notebooks. if it is working on other notebooks, then your ram is ok. your notebook will support maximum 2GB ddr2 memory per slot. your notebook may not be booting due to unsupported frequency of your ram. maximum supported frequency for your notebook may me 400Mhz, and you are putting a 667MHz ram into it. try to put a 400MHz 2GB ddr2 ram in your notebook.

Gateway desktop can't read a sdhc 32gb memory card

well it should read it unless the reader is incapable of reading cards of that capacity.. Are you sure the card is good ? try it on another reader..

A firmware update wont be of any help there since the capacity is HARDWARE not software. If the card is good you will need to replace the reader to a newer model or acquire and external card reader.

I have a Gateway M1A1 notebook with a sd card reader slot. when inserted the computer does not recognize the card. I believe the software is not loaded on my hard drive and I can't locate the drivers.

I looked up Gateway and there's no M1A1 notebook. You can download the driver for the SD card reader from there website.

Where do i insert a memory card into a gateway md2614 laptop

It depends what type of memory card you are referring to.

USB memory will plug into the USB ports on the left side of the laptop.

If you are using a Memory Sick, Memory Stick Pro, Mini Secure Digital, MultiMediaCard, RS_MultiMediaCard, Secure Digital (SD), or xD-Picture card they will go into the memory card reader on the left side of the laptop about 2 inches from the front of the machine. ** NOTE: this is the bottom slot.

If you are using a Type 54 ExpressCard it will also go in on the lfetside but this slot will be above the Memory card reader slot mentioned above.

Good Luck! :-)

I have a Gateway M-7315u laptop. I don't have a book on it. I know what the SD slot does, but what is the slot below it for? What is MMC/MS/xD?

The other slot below the SD slot is a memory card reader for other types of flash memory cards that are used in various digital devices.

You just need to insert a Memory card supported by your laptop in that slot and it will automatically show up on your My Computer as a removable drive.
