Question about Panasonic GigaRange KX-TG5432 Cordless Phone

Open Question

Phone beeps all the time, no range capability

I just got a used, supposedly factory refurbished Panasonic phone system of this type with three handsets. The main phone beeps repeatedly when just sitting in the cradle. The other problem I have is the phones have almost no range. I see no reason to have three handsets if they have to be in the room with the main base. Is there something I can do to make the range farther?

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

press function button on handset, scroll to initial setting, select by pressing right arrow, scroll to registration, select, select hs registration, follow directions on handset display, pressing mute on "new" base station, and ok on handset(plugged in). If you like, you can unregister with the "old" base unit first.

SOURCE: adding handset to Panasonic KX-TGA542M phone. ? how to ?

I ordered a new kx-tg560m handset for my kx-tg5632 base unit, but the enclosed instructions for registering it with the base unit were wrong. Fortunately, I found the old quick setup guide in my files.

If you do not have the same base unit and handset, go to the URL:
http://www.panaxonic.com/RegisterYourHandset.

1. On the handset, press [MENU], then press [0][0]. The handset displays "Refer to manual to prepare base. Then press OK->"
2. On the base unit, press [SELECT] until the desired extension number [H1, H2, H3, or H4] is displayed on the base unit, then press and hold [CALL] until the CHARGE indicator flashes.
3. On the handset, press the [OK] softkey.

When the handset is off and sitting in the charger, the handset's extension is displayed in the upper right corner.

How do I change the ring back to a longer time.

The installer sets that amount of time in the main system box. For business it's typically set for two minutes (129s) or three minutes (180s), for residence it's usually set for more time, three or more minutes. Panasonic calls it the "Hold Recall time." It's not set in the phone, it's a system wide setting.

Dear murari_verma
Type default code as 12345. I think this will solve it. Otherwise you have to change the software for that you should go to a service shop.

How can I clear the previous registrations from the TRU 9485 base?

Use the following steps to reset the base to factory settings for all TRU models:

1. Disconnect the power from the base

2. hold down the following three (3) keys: [dnd] + [middle soft key] + [*]

3. While holding down the keys, plug in the base (hold the keys down until you hear a long beep).

According to Uniden Tech support, this is supposedly all it takes to reset the phone.

Ringing everywhere

If it used to work and stopped, I'm guessing the system is no longer in the DAY mode. Each system tends to program differently and the 7730 phone can be plugged into one of about 18 different Panasonic systems.

From the main phone, try dialing 780#. If it beeps and says DAY MODE, it was the right command :-) Now test the lines and see if that fixed it.

If it doesn't work, please go to the phone closet/back room/attic/whatever and grab the model number of the phone SYSTEM and post back.

Voice Mail drops last of message and cannot listen entirely

It's possible the system thinks the caller has completed the message because they make a long pause in what they are saying. OR does it ever cut them off in mid sentence? Do you use standard copper lines or are you on a VOIP network such as a cable provided phone line? Some VOIP lines produce slightly different voltage levels, ring signals etc.. and cause problems with sensitive equipment like this system. On these codes that Panasonic had you change. Were they A/B on/off etc.. or was there a range (like 1-10) and you can try a setting in the middle somewhere instead of just 1 or 10. The older system had a phone line setting of A or B. The default was A but often changing them to B made a difference on certain types of phone lines. Panasonic probably had you change this (if the same feature is available on the 4500) but if not, and it's there try that.
