Question about Meade Autostar Suite Autostar Suite Software Telescope

1 Answer

Autostar software i am useing a DS11 camera one shot colour camera which works fine, however on capturing images i am finding that the finished exposures which are usually good (expo from 1m-15m), deep sky objects.are not what i find when exploring the files afterwards. I have experimented saving with all the different file types, result being that some images do not show the detail of the taken exposure others are totally white blanks, others are ok, this is most annoying. Have you any info on this.

Check the operating manual for the camera - you may be saving the image with the wrong selections. Most astronomical cameras have 'dark field' and 'flat field' exposures that are used together to compensate for sensor and telescope variations. The 'dark field' is to find hot pixils and the 'flat field' is to get the uniformity of the telescope/camera combination. Together, they are used to correct the image and produce a final image.

Image has lines and pink in colour

This maybe two problems, the pink color hue in the picture and lines from lens shutter problems. Your LCD is still good. You have to replace motherboard and lens.

How do i change the picture on my camera from coloured to black and white ?

You can select the color mode to Black and white to shoot images in black and white. If you have already captured the images in color, you can use a software in computer to change the color mode to black and white.

Thanks for understanding.

Please let me know if you require any clarifications.

I downloaded the software installed but computer can't find the cam windows 7

if it did not make an icon for the am cap on the desktop it may be one in the all programs ..This is for capture via the camera but i suggest to use the windows movie maker to make the captures cause it is easier to set ..and can be edited once finished .
second take a look in the computer folder you should find the camera as a drive and will work for snap shots ..(take photos) ..and the main use for the camera is not to capture or take photos ..but use it in the instant messaging programs like Skype or MES messenger or yahoo messenger ..and make video calls so ..this is what you have to try and see if it works ..and also set it in the programs you use...for example make a call set-up to see if the mic and the video work ..
have a great day and please rate my answer positive if ti helps ..

I have taken photos on my sony cyber shot DSC-N1. There is one photo I want to convert to Black and White and thought I could do that on the camera itself but I have gone through the menu and cant find...

You can set the camera up to capture images in black and white, or more accurately, monochrome (always a bad idea) but your camera cannot convert a colour image into monochrome after capturing it in colour. I'm unaware of any cameras able to do so as it just takes too much processing power.

By far the best way is to always capture the image in colour and to then use pc/Mac software afterwards to convert. The recorded colour information is of great use in giving added tonal depth to a monochrome image and can be used to simulate the effects of using the coloured filters which monochrome photography relies on to alter image contrast.

Sony cybershot P200 says 'File Error'

Hi,

The LCD screen may display a FILE ERROR message when trying to view a still image on the camera if the image was rotated, modified and overwritten using editing software on a computer. To play images you have taken on the camera, it is recommended that you do not make any changes to the original image files. I suggest that you transfer the images from the Camera to the computer and check if it works. After transferring the images, get the Memory formatted from the Camera and start capturing new images. The edited images will not get displayed in the Camera again. Please try not to edit the images in the Computer without transferring it.

Thanks.

Distorted images

There has to be something wrong with the firmware in the camera in order for that to happen. You could take it into a camera store but I have a feeling the cost is going to be too high.

I couldn't download the manual from the website either.
